Ok, I read the supposed back story in the OP and I don't for a minute believe that's the true story. After watching the video, I think the bike guy crashed into the asian guy's car and tried to get away, so the asian guy chases after him. But then nobody really knows the true story because the guy who took the video only showed the 2nd half of the incident and left out the cause.
I like to ask the people who are defending the biker, if some guy crashes into your car and tries to run away, would you chase after him like the asian guy? Are you ok with getting beat over the head multiple times by a U Lock?
Seems to be like another case of bicyclists thinking traffic laws for vehicles don't apply to them and it's perfectly ok to do a hit and run w/o any consequence 'cause there's no license plate to trace them. Awesome!

I have the end cap of my aluminum frame pump handle missing. If some motorist hits me, then goes all road rage on me, he's getting core sampled.

I'd pull out my pistol to defend myself, although, most likely NOT shoot.
If you don't plan to shoot, you should not be un-holstering the firearm. Period.
I know that if the person stops as soon as you draw you don't shoot, but you should never draw without the intent to shoot.

Why would you assume that when...
1. There is no evidence for it whatsoever?
2. An eyewitness described the exact opposite?
