p1-133 or maybe 166, W95
Celeron 300A on BX motherboard @ 450MHz, W98
Celeron Coppermine 600 on a slot adapter in the same BX MB as above OCed of course.
Perhaps one more CPU on the same MB, don't remember. Seems like the BX MB lasted a long time.
P4 1.3GHz for video encoding, ME, still have, don't use. 180nm
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+, XP, still in use. 65 nm
C2D 2.3GHz Vista, later FatDog64 Linux, still in use. 65nm
C2D 3GHz, Vista still in use. 45nm
i5-750, W7, still in use. 45nm
i5-2500k, W7, still in use. 32nm
i7-3770s, W7, current main system. 22nm

There have also been 2x AMD Regor (one running FatDog64 and one running SOLARIS with ZFS), and a 1055t (running W7) as well, all still in service.

EDIT: So I noticed a big gap between the 180nm P4 and the 65nm C2D. I've kept many old systems but several have been given away and forgotten about.

If NewEgg's records are correct I also had:

Intel Pentium D 820 Smithfield 2.8GHz LGA 775 95W Dual-Core Processor 90nm (don't remember this one at all, might have been a gift to someone).
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Winchester 2.0GHz Socket 939 Single-Core 90nm.
Intel Pentium 4 3.0E Prescott 3.0GHz Socket 478 89W Single-Core 90nm (remember this one a tiny bit).
Intel Pentium 4 2.6C Northwood 2.6GHz Socket 478 Single-Core 130nm.

Here goes my CPU history.....

Intel p200 mmx ------------------ 1998

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ ----------------2002

Intel E6950 -------------------- 2007

Intel i3 2100 ------------------ 2012

As you can see I pretty much have always been behind the curve.

Oh and I think I have the record here for a 40 year old with the least CPU upgrades in his lifetime

233mhz pentium
600 mhz celeron with Windows ME (absolute POS)
1.5ghz P4 (sort of sucked too)
Athlon XP 2600+
Core 2 Duo E4500
i5 2320

Barring hardware failure of some sort, I actually see the i5 lasting pretty much indefinitely, since I game but dont really require the latest and greatest settings and am not really interested in shooters anymore, which seem to be the most demanding.

I also think I had some sort of old Commodore or Ti something or other in the 80s or early 90s, but dont remember what it was. I keep the Athlon and Core 2 machines set up and can still use them, except the athlon is pretty much useless for gaming. I occasionally use the athlon for downloading stuff and the Core 2 Duo is hooked up to a TV and has a tuner card, so I can use it to record.

I wanted to participate in this thread, but to my shame I realized although I remember a great many builds and CPUs I can't separate in my memory whose was whose, I did a lot of work and had a lot of folding rigs also. Should have kept a journal.

Ones I remember, dates approximate:

1993: 386 DX 20
1995: Am486 DX4-100
1996: Pentium 150
1998: Celeron 300
2001: Celeron 733
'03-07: Various Athlon XPs???
2008: E5200
2010: 2x E5420
2012: 2x E5472
2013: E3-1230

These are just my personal desktop CPUs, I've gone through LOTS of others as far as spouse, children, folding, work, etc. Typing this on a PhII X4 940 at work.
