What has clearer text at 1280x1024x85 hz.....Samsung 950P or KDS AV-195TF?

I'm deciding between both these monitors. Looking to run my desktop at 1280x1024x85hz. What monitor gives you the sharper text at this setting?

The 950p is gonna win in text because its a shadow mask. The kds would win in color though.

Can't really answer your question, but combined with my V3 2000, my 950p's text quality is excellent at 1280x768 at 85 Mhz.

Note that they are two completely different types of monitors though, as the Captain said.

If you can get a chance, you might want to head for a local CompUSA store. There, you can look at the Sony E400 or G400. Both have the 'FD' tubes similar to the KDS AV-195TF. CompUSA usually has these monitors connected to dedicated PCs -- and you can usually adjust the resolution and video settings. You would be able to get some idea on how the text would appear on the KDS.

Like the others have indicated, the shadow mask tubes usually produce the clearest text. I am quite picky in this area and the Samsung 900P has been a great monitor in this regard.
