what heatsink to use on an amd 2700xp cpu? noise is an issue, current fan is only pan l1 on a cooler master hcc-001

I'd probably suggest an SLK-800 with an adjustable Enermax 80mm fan.

Take a real close look at the new Vantec Aeroflow and the Volcano 7+ (high speed). They'll run you about $35 bucks each but perform as good or better than the Thermalrights with a significant savings.

i just paid 29.99 + SH and whatever fan i wanna put on it (I have few extra 80mm panaflos at home so i didn't order any).

now my question is, how is that more expensive than your recommendation?
