WMC?That's what attracted me to this site, way back when...during the WMC debacle. As I remember, the WMC crap is initially why the Hot Deals section was created...to give the WMC's a place to cry separate from OT.
Wounded Monitor Children.
Yep, except always buy everything through Fatwallet for the cash back.Slickdeals.net

Yeah, I should have explained that. My bad. The WMC's, as noted, were the Wounded Monitor Children. This came out of a hot deal about, if I remember correctly, a Hitachi computer monitor that was exceptionally well priced...damned good deal, actually, and many, many jumped on the deal...I forget the online seller that had the deal. Maybe Value America. Maybe someone else.
Anyway, the buyers' credit cards were charged before the monitors shipped....waaay before the monitors shipped. In fact, while everyone that placed an order was charged, the seller didn't have enough stock to supply the demand, but still took orders for said monitor and charged the CC's. It took some legal wrangling and months to get their money back and/or alternative product.
Meantime, OT began to be clogged to the point of being overrun with threads decrying the fraud being perpetuated upon the buyers of said monitor...so Hot Deals was born to spare OT the daily angst of the WMC's.
At least that's my rememberance of the WMC's.

I guess you haven't been shopping much in the past few months: "FatWallet will stop offering Cash Back on 05/10/2016."Yep, except always buy everything through Fatwallet for the cash back.
True, they've handed it off to their "sister company", Ebates.I guess you haven't been shopping much in the past few months: "FatWallet will stop offering Cash Back on 05/10/2016."
As already mentioned, Slickdeals is where it's at these days. I also use sites like camelcamelcamel and pcpartpicker that will email me when an item drops below a certain threshold and show me the price history of an item.
Nice.Here's another site I use: http://www.cashbackmonitor.com/
It allows me to compare the cashback offerings from several different sites, so I know whether to check out using ebates, top cashback, mr. rebates, etc.
Pricewatch used to be the bomb for comparing the price of of parts. Not sure if it still is.
