It varies.. My contract is 9 months but I've been doubling and tripling up. I don't have a house or family ashore so it works OK for me. :awe:

Most cruise ships are registered to international ports of call, generally ones that are rather favorable to corporate and personal income taxes (there's a reason for that). LIVING on board a cruise ship generally means you're a resident of said country, no matter where you are (especially if the ships travel a good percentage within international waters).
