What, if anything, impresses you about where you live?

Nothing much honestly. For MD in general, I guess I'd say the highly varied terrain. Everything from mountains to beach. That's kind of cool, but the whole state's turning into a suburban wasteland :^/

Believe it or not- I love the weather- summers in Seattle are hard to beat- and I really don't mind rain. People overall seem nice, lots of things to do etc...and great music/plenty of concerts/festivals.

The beautiful scenery and cultural diversity (including food) has already been mentioned.

What impresses me the most is how anyone manages to raise a family here nowadays given the ridiculous cost of living and comparatively low salaries.

The lack of diversity here is terrible. With a 90% white population with most of them gun toting racist rednecks makes me not want to go out at all. Even though there is no point in going out since there's nothing to do.

As a state - tons of lakes which come in handy in the summer. And in the winter.

As a town - 50Mb fiber to the house for $39/month.

I live in the SF Bay Area, but a safe distance away from San Francisco proper. A lot of the lunatics on the west coast seem to congregate there . The diversity of tech jobs here always has impressed me - it's why I moved here, and why I stay.
