He goes on to tell me that PCP&C had given Nvidia some special 1200watt power supplies for testing the NV90 (?) Says the card alone draws 230 watts and runs about 60% faster than a 7800GTX and will retail for just over $1000. This, he claims, will be on the market a week or 2 before xmas. Now I don't know this guy from a can of paint but I do find it hard to believe he'd be blowin that much smoke up my ass. All the same it was an interesting conversation and has me wondering.
( Just ordered a BFG 7800GT OC and PCP&C TurboCool 510 Express)
1200W, 230W GPU, NV90... This guy was blowing smoke up your @ss, my friend.
G70 on 90nm will be out by Xmas most likely. It will not need a 1200W PSU nor should it consume 230W either. But hey, leave it to a PSU guy to pimp an absurdly powerful/expensive PSU .

[Yes, your opinion is all well and good, and you're welcome to it, but you are also wrong.
You can't be wrong about an opinion no matter how much you disagree. I loved the game and thought it was well done. Very few FPSs can aviod the "next room is full of badies" part that well do to the nature of gun battle lasting mere seconds. Us FPS players get the short end of a stick usually do to this as our games are some of the quickest played. I thought they did a good job getting you past section before they became to repetative, and I didn't think they use cheap scare tatics. Doom 3 with the "you need eyes behind your back because their is always a secret door or if you get far enough they can teleport behind you trick" I think was the game resorted to cheap scare tactics. A cheap scare tactic is putting a caracter right next to you to attack you, a good scare tatic is putting a caracter that does no damage to you right next to you. How can you be frightened if she never does damage, still startles people, that is a great scare tactic.
Exactly. There's no right or wrong in opinions on matters such as games.
I never said that FEAR was the best game ever or anything stupid like that at all. I said that it was fun, better than Doom3 and used some good gameplay ideas (slow mo + quiet/scary parts).
Now that I'm farther in the game (I just rescued the girl and am about the get up onto the roof in the building), I do find it a bit repetitive. Fun, definitely, but kind of repetitive.
Certainly no Far Cry or Halo.
