If the persecution & killings of the jews and other minorities had not happened in WWII the world would be quite different today imo.

No holocaust = Israel would most likely not even exist and therefore terrorism from muslim radicals towards the west would probably not even had existed either.

I'm no expert on the matter, but my impression is that the Germans from around then were profoundly anti-semetic and xenophobic. Bashing non-Germans, and promoting the Aryan superman and all that other stuff is how Hitler united all the ethnic Germans and got powerful in the first place. So I don't think Hitler would have gained power in the first place if he was just your regular run of the mill strong-man like Mussolini without all the wild racial superiority trappings.

Not really. Most Germans were not fans of Hitler's racist ideology. Hitler would adjust the racism in his speeches depending on what crowd he was speaking to. As he gained power a prestige in the country, however, he was able to compellingly link the Jews to the surrender in 1918 and increasingly blame them for Germany's defeat. Eventually, that mantra penetrated a lot of society, but I still wouldn't call most Germans gung-go or pro-holocaust.

Plus, Hitler's racism really had little to do with his appointment as Chancellor. Hitler was made Chancellor by powerful men who were not fans of the Weimar Republic. For the most part, they didn't believe whatever Hitler chose to spout, they picked him to be Chancellor because the Nazi party was big (>30% of the vote at the time, though declining) and because they believed they could control him and rule Germany via proxy.

If hitler didnt kill jews and instead considered them normal people, the United states i doubt would have ever been able to make the Atomic bomb because remember Einstein and the other Jews/Germans were helpfull in making Rockets and the bomb, the war in the pacific would have gone on forever, and Germany would have probably been the first to develop the bomb instead. I know the government is shifting to a more socialist stance in how to run the economy, with what its been doing, but that was not what I was commenting about.
