What is a BQ Fee?

Got back from Morton's Steakhouse. After looking at the receipt, I saw a charge for $48 for a BQ Fee.

Anyone know what it is?

No, we didn't have any alcohol.

Sounds like they rang you up for it anyway. Were you part of a group and maybe it got put on your ticket instead? Or maybe someone just seeing if they could get away with it. Or just simple idiocy (was at a restaurant a little while back and the waitress screwed up the entire table's checks, it was like 10 guys, each paying separately, and they had alcohol purchases, some of which had been cleared from the table).

Which Morton's was this? I've been to one in D.C., but I figured it was pretty much like Capital Grille.

That fee is BS. I didn't even notice it at first because it was buried in the middle like that. I only saw it because it didn't end in a round number like everything else.

$14 onion rings and french fires better be pretty amazing.

I've been trying very hard to stay my righteous anger over my idiot brother ordering SEVEN sides and then only eating 5% of it. Not to mention ordering $5 sodas and then taking 1-2 sips.

$70 Porterhouse...Ok no problem but whoever bought the Tomahawk steak for $110..ehhh. Nothing like spending $40 for an extra piece of bone sticking out of your dish.

No, that was this whole other line. I couldn't take a pic of the whole thing because it is so long. That receipt keeps going on to about a $1000.

If everything was eaten, I wouldn't have a problem with it. But my brother (6" 130lb. who eats like a model on a diet) decides to order seven side dishes (designed for 14-21 people) and then nibbled on about 5% of it.

I hear ya, I get pissed when I take my nephews out to lunch or the movies and they order twice the amount of food then they'll ever eat (bitching that it's not enough) and then end up eating a 1/3 of that. To top it off they throw it all the way. Leftovers? What's that uncle!

You know, I have a confession to make. In my older years, I recognize the mis-steps and mistakes of my youth. I was once on a youth soccer team (not very good). The coach was friends with someone that owned a small restaurant in the area, that served burgers. I forget the reason, but at the end of the season, we all got to go there and got free burgers. I ate one, maybe two, I don't remember. Then I asked for another, received it, and then ate like one, maybe two bites, and then I stopped. I guess I was full. But since that day, I've felt bad about it. I cost that guy an extra burger, and wasted food.

From then on, when I went to buffets, I generally only took smaller portions, that I KNEW I could finish. (Sometimes I don't always eat certain things, like if I'm trying something new at a buffet. But I generally don't load up on it if I've never had it before.)

I HATE people who waste food, because I'm the type of guy who eats around the mold.

I once saw a Chinese guy do something like this at a buffet:



Only he took an entire tray of shrimp and did not leave any behind. He ate a few and left a small mountain of shrimp uneaten to be thrown away. Rude as hell.

Thats why there are certain people in my life I don't pick up the check for. For my friends there is usually friendly fight over who is paying. For other people it's two separate checks and NOT split down the middle
