What is a card guide?

Part #12 on on this blowup of the Antec SX600/630/635 is called a card guide...what is it for?

It probably holds your cards in place. They used to put these on older machines a lot (86,286,etc)

Just in cased you still have a hard disk controller card or some other piece of ancient hardware that is 18" long, that will hold the end of the card in place and keep it from wobbling around and possibly breaking. Cards havent been made that big since 1986 though. (Well, maybe a Voodoo5 6000 )

hehe, the new GF4's are damn near that big!!

Alot of RAID controllers are that big. (and most all of them that have battery backup on them)
