What is a good software package to test applicants in office skills?

I need software that will test applicants in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel mostly) and other basic office tasks. I've tried a number of software, but they are mostly multiple choice and only test theory. They also do not rank the results of the tests taken from all the applicants and there is no way to compare and contrast with the results. Any ideas/suggestions/experiences would be appreciated!

Just use office. Ask them to do a letter merge or make some type of spreadsheet in excel. Or give them 5 minutes to build a powerpoint presentation.

You should test applicants in their ability to learn new things. IMO it is more important for them to learn new skills fast than what they already know.

And, anyone can learn to use the F1 key when needed.

Prof, use the f5 key to start slideshow in powerpoint-

Girl beside me---- what the H*ll is an f5 key, teacher says it's the f-key + 5-key..... this class is a Riot!!!!

on the subject just give them a letter you make and have them rework it in word, then do the same for excel
