I thought it was Pluto.....Since we get Black Friday only in US, the planet need to be smaller than Uranus otherwise it will blacken more parts of the earth.

Seriously, picture this - not so long ago, USENET pretty much was the internet, and its newsgroups numbered barely into the thousands. Most of the newsgroups had a small common population, so that no matter where you went, you most likely knew someone posting in it. (FYI, this was in the days before the evil windows came to lay ruin to the internet already perverted by the noobs of AOL ilk)

Prior to this, there were, at one time, BBS's accessed via 300 baud modems where anyone worth their salt could out-type the blinkin cursor and you'd have to wait to see what you'd typed. These morphed into FIDONET, which continued to persist as a large source of porn, ah hem, data, which was also on the internet.

Well, enough of the history lesson. Basically, everyone, by definition, has to be a noob, however, some of us had the (mis?)fortune to not have to force experienced folks to suffer through our "noobness".

Because 3/4 of the country is off of work, making a 4 day weekend. So why not market the day where TONS of people can make it out to shop before Christmas??

What really made me laugh is when the poster above asked sarcastically...WHY does BF have to be the day after thanksgiving???
My response to that is if it was the day before it would be White Wednesday,preceded only by Blue Monday,to be followed in the next two months,to SuperBowl Sunday,immediately followed by....you see how kooky this is......

The meaning has to be the financial state US retailers hope they'll be in when we consumers spend all we got....In the Black get it????
