Hunting isn't just about hitting a moving target at 200 yards, it's mostly about HUNTING to find the target. That's where the "hunt" part comes from. You can spend hours, no DAYS in a tree blind and see a couple deer. You may not have a clean shot on them either. You can also stand near a feeder and pick them off, but whatever...

They are taking pride in something they spent time, money, effort, practice, and training on. How hard is that to understand?

but if someone takes the meat to eat then that is good (well not the deer). Deer meat is some of the best stuf to eat. it is healthy and low on fat.

not to mention for the health of the heard many of the deer do need to be killed. they have very few natural preditors and hunting helps.

i hope i get to go hunting this year. i really want to make some jerky and sausage. but don't think i will be able to

I dont think he has an issue with killing animals for food. But when hunting for food is different than hunting for sport. I doubt people pose with cows before they slaughter them for steak.

Here in Wisconsin the deer population is so out of control that if hunters did not harvest a portion of the animals even more would die from starvation then if there was no hunting. I think it's more humane to put a bullet through a deer's heart then let it die over weeks/months from starvation.

Also, you know a deer out in the woods has a much better chance then a cow at the slaughterhouse.

Hunting in a modern world, with things like dairy farms and beef ranches, and places like kentucky chicken with there own chicken farms, meh, the idea of having to hunt for your food in that sence is gone, you dont need to, there is no NEED for it.
l dont understand how some one can believe they have achieved a hunting with skill with a gun, ppfftt, anyone been to africa, theres tribesman in africa that take on lions with a 40 cm lump of wood as there tool or weapon, THATS HUNTING SKILL, you pussies with your guns and compound bows are nothing more that piss weak and skilless.
And oh how brave it is to shoot a deer, defenceless, piss weak bastards, go hunt a us marshal, something on par with a gun, or join the army, animal hunting is piss weak.
And a thing of the past for our modern day survival.

Ever seen a deer attack someone? They are hardly lacking in ability to defend themselvs, provided the chance.

It has happened many times where the hunter will shoot the deer and go to collect it, but it isn't entirely dead and fights back with flailing antlers and hooves... not something I would want to be around.

Fishing must also be bad if hunting is. Fish have NO way of defending themselves... so if you were a REAL fisherman you would dive in the river and catch it in your mouth! (LMAO) People pose with fish too FYI.

I could also claim that people who spend all their time building computers are enormous idiots too. I mean, how stupid is it to build a computer when you can just go online and have one shipping to you, and you don't have to do any work! Or why in the world would anyone play computer games... not like they are hard! Those people are just wasting their lives every time they play a computer game. How manly is that, the computer can't even do what it wants and fight back. It just sits there taking inputs!

Hunting and fishing take skill, patience, and knowledge. Including the knowledge that we are at the top of the food chain.

I get what DaHunan is saying. I'm surprised that apparently only 4-5 of us have known a guy who thinks he is more "manly" because he kills animals. I eat plenty of meat, and have hunted and killed animals. I did not take any pictures of the trip, or of what I killed. What's the point? Why would I take a picture of a dead animal unless something memorable happened (like the guy knifing the bear)?

I don't take pictures of the meat section of the grocery store, and I don't think that guys who work in a slaughterhouse are more "manly" than anyone else.

deer do not have enough natural hunters to keep the heard down. with that and the fact we have MORE deer around then ever it leads to a dead heard.
