I live in Alabama and I've never hunted a day in my life. However, people here don't hunt just to take gaudy photos. They do it for food and competition.

It is NOT easy to shoot an animal from far away. It isn't even easy to shoot a stationary target from far away. Hunting is a challenge and a sport.

Dude, deer and elk in colorado are way over populated because there are no natural predators to keep the heards numbers down. in fact the elk population is so high there were two lotterys for elk tags this year.

So, being able to take down an animal from 500 yards with a high-powered rifle makes them archers now? :roll:

I see no problem with taking pictures of the animals one hunts, even though I would only hunt for food. I take pictures of interesting rock formations I find when I go rock hunting, why not of a particularly large animal specimen I may have shot, or one with an unusual pattern to its fur or somesuch?

I think killing an animal with your bare hands is the only manly way to kill an animal. A knife is also acceptable. Hell, even a bow and arrow is considerably cooler, although not as manly as stabbing a bear in the face until it dies while it tries to maul you.
