So I am in the process of looking for a house to rent. Finding a place that is reasonably priced in the area of the city I am looking for that allows pets is a real hassle. When I do find something that fits the criteria I am fairly quick to try and make contact to get information and set up an appointment to see it. The problem is the landlords/management companies are a bunch of farking flakes.
I called one place 3 days ago to set up an appointment to see a place, set a date and time. Now the listing has been removed with no courtesy call to let me know that it wasn't available or to not waste my time in showing up at the appointment.
Found another place today with two different agent's sets of phone numbers, all of them go unanswered and no returned calls on the messages I have left.
Seriously people, I have money I want to give you in exchange for a place to live. Can't you at least answer your goddamned phone or return someone's calls?
BAH... time to keep looking. :|
Part II 6/24:
It's been almost two weeks since I made the first part of the rant here and things have not gotten any better. I have continued looking to little avail. I put in a preliminary app for one house, after not hearing back for a few days I called the agent to ask if I had been denied or if they house has been rented to someone else. Nope, they lost my application and wanted to know if I could fill out another. :|
So I filled out an application for another place, called the agent on it a couple of hours before going to turn them in, asked a few questions and let him know that we would be applying. I get to their office to drop off the apps and the secretary lets me know that they had just approved someone else for the property I was applying for. :|
To top that off I am searching craigslist again this morning and low and behold there is the same property I was told was leased with a brand new listing. :|:|:|
Now I am a week away from when I need to turn in my 30 day notice to avoid having to stay through August and I have no place to move to.
Part II Update: Got a call from the agent who lost my app. They found it and after giving it a preliminary review he says it looks good and would have an answer for me by tomorrow on if I would be accepted. Finally some good news
Part III 7/11: I Has a House!
The agent who lost my paperwork initially came through for me! I highly doubt anyone cares about this at all, but I didn't feel like Syringering anyone who did.
PICS!
Outside
Covered Porch
Kitchen
Living Room
Now I just need to work on getting our dog to being a mostly outdoor puppy.
He seems to think the yard is just an off leash dog park and can't figure out why we won't let him inside.
Overall I am very happy.
Cliffs: Looking for houses sucks.
