I've lived with both sexes long enough to know that guys use the bathroom a lot more than women do.
what?

hahahaha, you can't be serious

sure, you are in there longer when you drop the kids off at the pool, but the per use has to be about the same.

because there is nothing like stumbling to the toilet at 3am and getting a butt full of gross toilet water.

You have two eyes don't you? Use them. Better yet, turn on the flippin' light and watch where you're putting your ass.

Agreed! If I stumble into the bathroom at 3am to drop a deuce, I'm sure as hell gonna check the seat. Honestly, why would anyone sit before looking anyway? (Serious question)

well, my boyfriend has been so well trained by his mother that he yells at me for not putting the toilet lid down before I flush.. plus i grew up in a house where the seat is always down so I naturally don't look to see if the seat is down.

well, we didn't all grow up in that kind of family environment. Your boyfriend is "so well trained" by his mom? Words fail me at this juncture.

ugh, pick over my verbage why don't you.

lets put it this way: when you flush the toilet thousands of pee particles are sprung up into the air by the flushing of the toilet.. most people keep things like THEIR TOOTHBRUSHES in said bathroom.. their point is that when you flush with the lid up you are essentially spraying pee all over your toothbrush. They have a point and I always try to put the lid down before I flush now.

And no, I do not pee all over the toilet if I don't notice the lid is down until after i start to sit.. I don't actually start to pee until I know that everything is under control. Geeze.

My question is: Why are you people getting so angry over such a stupid issue?!

You're one of those "bathroom freaks" aren't you?

The OC types. Where you'll pay no mind to what you eat or where it comes from but god forbid you touch places that hands have touched in the restroom.

no, not me. Public bathrooms get cleaned a lot more frequently than things like elevators or stair railings so theres not much to really fear in a public bathroom

but the toothbrush thing grosses me out.

see my answer on equality above.

So why do you need special treatment on this particular issue? Everything else is generally on a "adjust it if you need to prior to using" basis. What makes this so special?

cause, like it has been said, i don't want to see your pee dribbles and i don't want to touch the seat that you may have sprayed on.

3 of the 4. Therefore the seat should be down

Though I still don't see why they have to complain. If the default position is down, that means all of us guys have to put it up, so why should women complain about having to put it down? Why do we have to do BOTH the putting up and putting down? Generally when I'm in someone else's home, I always leave it where I found it. But if women want equal treatment, then they shouldn't expect to always have the seat the way they want it. And there's absolutely NO excuse for accidentally sitting on the rim.
Nothing stops you from squatting on the throne like the rest of the queens/princesses.

I often sit while doing number one because I feel that the urine may splatter into the air when I strike the bow from 2 feet up.

i've never asked anyone to put the seat down. but you know when you are around a cool considerate guy when he just does it automatically.

and all guys know, you are around a poor pvssy whipped mf when they see him put the toilet seat down.

hey, it just depends on your perspective.

Pfft, lots of guys pee sitting down. There have been threads and polls about this. More guys than you think do so. I pee sitting down, I also clean my own bathroom. Why would I want thousands of piss splatters all over my bathroom when I can prevent it simply by sitting?

2 reasons:

1. Its faster standing up. No explanation need there.
2. Aiming is key. Again, no explanation needed.

Everyone in my house puts the seat and the lid all the way down. I figure if she's gonna bitch, we all should have to put it completely down and then everyone puts up what they want, and puts the whole freaking thing down when we are done with our business... It's especially nice that I have her trained to do that since we have a dog that loves to drink from the toilet and a 14 month old son that loves to splash around in there.

B/C it's easier and faster to unzip, piss and shake than to squat and tinkle

Well yea, you're right. It is easier to do what you suggested. But! When I became responsible for cleaning my own bathroom, I started sitting down. I get so grossed out cleaning dried pee off the floor, it's not a problem anymore.
