As I expected.
Police investigating the Lauren Cho case considered her voluntarily missing. https://nj1015.com/new-jersey-woman-goes-missing-in-california/
a friend said she wanted to move out west to live a more remote live and the place she went missing is an are filled with the artistic commune types. More recently, they searched the area she was living and have her phone and computer. There is no new developments so there is nothing to report.
It needs to be the perfect storm to keep people interested or else it is onto the next case. 600,000 people go missing each year and most are eventually located.

The elephant in the news room.

the police did extensive searching after finding Mr. Robinson’s crashed truck. People said he left work suddenly and drove off and was acting erratic the weeks leading up to when he disappeared.
what would you like the media to do with no additional updates on this case? It sounds like a mental breakdown and an accident and the guy wandered out into the desert and hopefully his body will be one day found by someone out hiking or on a atv or something.

Re: The topic. It is the same reason neighborhoods are largely racially segregated throughout the nation.
Self selection.

At humanity's core is a tribal pack animal. Our tribe inherits our sense of self. Yet we fear / have bias towards the "other". In a majority white nation, the pretty white girl is going to draw attention. Because most viewers will relate and draw emotional connection, empathy, through that shared ID.

So the husband is missing because of white privilege?
No, he's missing because he is likely a murderer and on the run. I think it's stupid that the police didn't apprehend the guy when he arrived back in florida alone. If I was on the police department I'd be holding him for questioning until we had questions answered about her location. But I realize, the constitution and stuff...

Same story picked up by local sources, some with added local information:

And yet others are still babbling about the one.

- Looks like the the real narrative here is missing pretty blonde girl story is inevitably paired to the "what about missing black girls" story (with variations), then there is a very surface level discussion, then its on to the next thing our attention spans can keep track of.

Its like a god damn money printing machine for the media. Lead with pretty blonde, and as facts come out or attention wanes reinforce with "what about missing POCs" to keep the clicks coming, then roll on to something else.

Its like watching a Video game released on Steam... go for the whales first, the value conscious next, then the bargain bin. It can be a video game, toy, or the people's lives, its all a product that needs a good sellin'...

The elephant in the news room.

This is not an elephant and more than one person has been easily able to discuss this issue. But lets go over it yet again.

"The Media" as we are calling it, is only interested in one thing: Money.
They get money through ad revenue. They get ad revenue through ratings or page hits.
They get ratings and page hits by running stories people like to watch, or read.
The American people, as a whole, LOVE stories about kids, animals, and pretty white women. This is sad, but its also reality. We can analyze the shit out of this until the sun cools and expands and the earth is swallowed up. It doesn't matter.
Bottom line is stories about pretty white women disappearing generate considerably more ad revenue than black men disappearing. Does it mean America is racist and sexist? Absolutely. Do any of us have a plan to make America less racist or sexist? Cuz I sure don't. I wouldn't even know where to begin on such an endeavor.
I know its fun to shit on "The Media" because its such an easy target, but the sad truth is they give us exactly what we want. Its our fault, the public, and we blame them for it because thats much easier than blaming ourselves. "The Media" doesn't give a damn about anything. They are cold and ruthless and completely detached from emotion. They only want money. They don't actually choose what to report, we do, with clicks and ratings, and I don't see a solution to this issue.

FAUX Nooze used the term 'America's Daughter' in an article about the funeral, but I don't know if they coined it.

Silver Little Eagle is more fitting of that moniker that this blonde.

You really expect the likes of Fox News to hold up a woman of color as a symbol of America? Clearly you forgot what kind of people watch and believe their garbage.

Second problem, you are making too much sense

A phrase coined by the late Gwen Ifill. Unbalanced nationwide media coverage when a perceived pretty white girl goes missing. We went through the same thing with the unending coverage of Natalee Holloway and Laci Peterson.

Meanwhile we've had no national coverage of the following...
Over 50 Black girls missing from New York, New Jersey, report finds (yahoo.com)

Missing Hawaiian girl
Fears for missing Hawaii girl, 6, whose adoptive parents last saw her in bed four nights ago | The Independent

Missing Asian woman
Who is Lauren Cho? Missing Woman's Media Coverage Compared to Gabby Petito Sparks Debate (msn.com)

Missing native american woman
FBI offers $10,000 reward for information on the disappearance of Native American woman - CNN

Want to know what this country cares about? See the unending coverage of Gabby Petito and thousands of Haitians on the border in Texas.
AmeriKKKa has never given two fucks about POC.

More evidence:

Only this time its england. And they too have an obsession with white women, which of course translates to the news as ad revenue, so, there ya go.
umm… 87% of the people in England are white and more than half are women so this story is about a white woman abducted by a police officer and killed. it would absolutely be wall to wall here if it happened here.

I notice CNN.com has published a few stories lately about women of color going missing. Still female, attractive and young, but not white. In a transparent attempt to regain their "progressive cred."

One detail which irritates the hell out me about the press coverage of this: practically all the articles I've seen online about the case, and they come out daily, feature only photos of the attractive victim. Even though this guy is in the wind and this is now a manhunt. It doesn't even occur to them to post a photo of Laundrie because, you know, if his photo is out there, then someone might recognize him?

Which tells you exactly where the media is: it's just a cash-in. I don't know, maybe it's just cnn.com. Edit: today's article on cnn does have a Laundrie photo.

I've been trying to pay attention of the missing woman stories and notice the frequency of the stories and races.

I've noticed more, but I can't say if its just that I decided to make it a point to notice.

I'm still not inspired to make them stories to follow. I don't care much more/less for them than this Gabby story, although the current one is taking all the drama and attention.

Most common picture here is the pretty, white blonde version:

Though some of her other pictures show her as a dark haired Latina.

Despite what you people claim constantly, CNN is not trying to push a progressive agenda. They publish facts as a matter of habit, and admit when they make mistakes.
Since Fox News is a straight up propaganda machine, most of their fans just assume there has to be a propaganda machine on the other side. There probably is, but its not CNN.
