You're digging deep with the personal attack styling. I am not wrong, nor am I not wrong about not being wrong. I think YOU have some growing up to do.
Clear case of trolling now. It's pointless talking to you. Have fun in the emptiness inside your head.

You clearly are unable to follow a simple conversation. This has nothing to do with which movie is better or that I care what you like or dislike. The fact is The Departed is a remake. Period. You keep trying to twist the argument and use other excuses to not realize and admit the truth. Educate yourself. Until then, yeah, I'm going to call you stupid and a moron. It's not a personal attack, it's a personal opinion and seems to be the truth. You sound like one of those flat earthers.

What can I say? I'm not reading your taunts and retorts anymore. I love The Departed, didn't like Infernal Affairs. That's the way it is, period. That bugs you, tough. You should check yourself out with your need to engage in ad hominem attacks.

Airplane! What a great movie. You could never make something like that today with all that off color humor.
Itself a remake of zero hour, the people that made it even bought the rights to zero hour out of fear because it was so close an adaptation.

Spaceballs is my fave Mel Brooks. After having suffered through a hellscape of Star Wars movies, it was the perfect antidote.

Yes they wouldn't make sense due to how sensitive people are today. Mel jabbed at every culture though.

How so? Top shelf Scorcese (The Departed). A remake is unimaginable, it was fantastic, funny as shit, cracks me up every time.

I make it a point to skip trailers until AFTER I see a movie. The beginning of D&D is so great, almost as great (if that's possible) as Office Space!

The Departed is a remake of a HK film Infernal Affairs.

Without remakes, we wouldn't have The Thing (1982).

Ah, but The Thing (82) really is a new rendering of the original short-story, rather than a remake of the Howard Hawks film. Someone already used that defence in the case of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but I think it much more definitely applies here - the Carpenter movie is far more clearly based on the original story than the earlier movie.

Stanley Kubrick's the Shining, after a book written by Stephen King, didn't please King, who afterward collaborated on a 3 episode TV version which sticks much closer to the book. The movie bothered me. I tried the TV series around Halloween but didn't get more than 1/2 hour into it. King's penchant for the supernatural rubs me the wrong way. I guess I should retry it, I did buy a disc set, which includes IT and one other King novel based film. I read IT (finished it), thought King squandered an opportunity when he devolved into supernatural shenanigans again.

NO King movie should ever have been made or book written. That is one seriously disturbed dude that should be committed for all eternity under the asylum.

Apparently a lot of people don't see it your way, but I'm not among them. I don't have an opinion, however AFAIK you're right there. I figure he doesn't live in an occult fantasy, but could be wrong.

I think the majority of his catalog has supernatural stuff in it. I don't care for his writing style, so I've never been able to finish anything he wrote.

I consider The Shining to be the greatest horror movie of all-time. I've only briefly watched the TV mini-series and it doesn't hold a candle to Kubrick's version. I wish Kubrick did more horror because the guy was a genius in suspense and framing.

I like the IT mini-series for how cheesy it can be, same with The Langoliers...

I haven't seen Infernal Affairs. I have the DVD but have never gotten round to watching it.

Saw The Departed - thought it was OK but not brilliant. Embarrassing thing is, I got Leonardo Di Caprio's character and Matt Damon's character confused at the start. I don't think I was familair with either actor at that point, they were just generic white American guys to me. That mix-up made the plot a bit confusing.

Worried that if I have the same problem with Infernal Affairs it would constitute a racist trope and reflect badly on me.

I was thinking of the movies that WERE remade. Like Psycho and Willard (the rat movie) and Fun With Dick And Jane and especially The Stepford Wives.
The problem is, now they only show the crappy remakes on TV. I haven't seen the original THE STEPFORD WIVES on TV in years.

And then you have those movies that they make sequels of. Talk about a waste of money. Who finances this crap?
