Time is money. Please help me save both with your experienced suggestions. I only want the best memory for my rig:

MSI K8N NEO4 SLI/PREMUIM MB
COOLERMASTER CMSTACKER CASE
2- BFG 7800 GTX OC VIDEO CARDS
2 STICKS OCZ EL 512MEG DUAL CHANNEL 2-3-2-5
2-WESTERN DIGITAL RAPTORS HD SATA
1-WESTERN DIGITAL IDE 40 GIG
ENERMAX 600 WATT NOISETAKER POWER SUPPLY(sli ready)
1-PLEXTER DUAL LAYER DVD WRITER
1-SONY DVD READER
1-SONY FLOPPY DRIVE
MICROSOFT WIRELESS KEYBOARD AND MOUSE
SOUND BLASTER AUDIGY 2 SOUND CARD
LOGITECH 5.1 SPEAKER SYSTEM
LEADTEC TV TUNER CARD
CANOPUS PCI CARD TO CONVERT ANALOG VIDEO CAMERA TO DVD
AMD FX-55 CPU
VIEWSONIC 19 INCH P95F+

I want to upgrade my amount of memory to 2 gigs. Should I just double what I have now or replace it with far better? Thanks as always.

PS: Since I recently started calling my rig a rig my wife says I am now offically a nerd. But I am having a lot of fun.

Let me rephrase my question: If you were rich what memory would you install in this machine?

SLI is pointless. Therefore SLI motherboards are pointless. An "SLI Ready" PSU is all marketing. Enermax is a good brand though. You should go with an A64 X2 4400+ instead of an FX-55 if you do anything else while you game. (i.e. Instant Messaging).

Otherwise looks pretty good. Dunno about the TV Tuner and stuff, I dont know alot about them.

- Why not DFI for the motherboard? I understand it's more gooder for das overclocking.
- You should obviously be going for 2x1 gig sticks of what... Patriot? OCZ? Crucial? Corsair? Whatever's got great timings and overclockability. Read Anandtech reviews.
- Why Microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse? Why not the Logitech G7 plus... I dunno, whatever on the keyboard.
- You should be getting an X-Fi for your soundcard, not Audigy 2. And if you're going Audigy, you should be going Audigy 2 ZS Platinum.
- The cheapest 5.1 Logitech speakers you should even be thinking of are the Z-5500s.
- Why FX-55? Why not go for the FX-57?
- Why did you get such an awesome system and then cheap out on the hard drive storage? You need two Raptors in RAID-0 plus at least 1 500 gig hard drive for storage.

If you're gonna dream, no sense in half-assing it.

MSI K8N NEO4 SLI/PREMUIM MB
-Fine
COOLERMASTER CMSTACKER CASE
-Fine
2- BFG 7800 GTX OC VIDEO CARDS
-Erm, do you really need 2? What kinds of resolutions are we talking about here that you need that kind of power.
2 STICKS OCZ EL 512MEG DUAL CHANNEL 2-3-2-5
-2 7800's but only 1 Gb ram, thats funny. Definently go with 2 X 1Gb sticks. Doesnt matter who really but stay at same latency 2-3-2-5
2-WESTERN DIGITAL RAPTORS HD SATA
-Worthless junk. http://www.anandtech.com/storage/showdoc.aspx?i=2396&p=13 Look were your raptors fall in real world performance. Not worth the money at ALL. Plus Seagate has their new line of 7200.9's out so their probably even faster.
1-WESTERN DIGITAL IDE 40 GIG
-Why bother....
ENERMAX 600 WATT NOISETAKER POWER SUPPLY(sli ready)
- Sli ready is gimmick, but eh the psu is fine.
1-PLEXTER DUAL LAYER DVD WRITER
- O.K.
1-SONY DVD READER
- O.K.
1-SONY FLOPPY DRIVE
- Is this really needed?? Just get a usb flash drive for a few bucks more.
MICROSOFT WIRELESS KEYBOARD AND MOUSE
- Stay away, if gaming go with a wired mouse like the mx518 or (wireless) G7. Keyboard doesnt matter too much, personally i like my saitek eclipse ;p
SOUND BLASTER AUDIGY 2 SOUND CARD
- Fine
LOGITECH 5.1 SPEAKER SYSTEM
- Fine
LEADTEC TV TUNER CARD
- Erm.... no idea if this is even necessary
CANOPUS PCI CARD TO CONVERT ANALOG VIDEO CAMERA TO DVD
- Same.....
AMD FX-55 CPU
- uhh Waste of money in my opinion. costs roughly ~$800 bucks but doesnt perform much better than a A64 4000+ thats half the cost. http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/showdoc.aspx?i=2456&p=6

BUILD IT YOURSELF MAN!!! Don't listen to people who say buy a computer, and ESPECIALLY don't listen to people that say buy alienware.

The best memory out there only supports DFI lanparty boards, because the ram requires 3.4 volts. The best thing you could get on your system would be 2 gigs of OCZ 2-3-2-5 ram.

I should be more clearer: my parts listed are allready installed and running. I combined some older parts with some newer. I forgot to mention I use a Viewsonic 19 inch P95f+ as a monitor, it's capable of high resolutions. I thought I would get an Acer LCD monitor that will be out later this year with a 6ms response time. Anymore thoughts? Keep them coming. As always this is a great website for computer hardware information. Thanks.

Doesn't matter. Sell off that OCZ kit and buy the G.Skill that Kensai and I recommended.

Don't get an FX-55... Get a 3800+ X2, or if you have the money. a 4400+ (for the extra 1GB cache). Expensive RAM is pretty much useless. If you need to overclock, just run a divider. The lower latencies only yield a ~2% performance boost anyways. Since you seem to be made of money, ditch the Raptor and get a used SCSI u160 controller card and a 36GB Seagate 15k RPM drive. It's faster, doesn't cost that much more, and gives you a much more notiecable difference between 7200RPM drives. Also, get another 250GB+ 7200RPM drive for storage. Also, you should get some decent peripherals. Don't waste money on SLI. Get a Dell 2405FPW, a decent keyboard/mouse, and some nice Klipsch ProMedias. There's no need for 2 7800GTX's. My 6600GT can do HL2/Doom 3 1024x786 max AA/AF pretty nicely. A single 7800GTX can play ANY game, ANY resolution, ANY quality.

*EDIT*
Oh, you already have those parts... Well, whatever, you just wasted a ton of money.

Oh well. Just my contribution to the economy. I love the feeling that I can (almost) have the best of anything. I worked my tail off to get to this point and I am going to enjoy it.
This computer I built is amazing to me, it's fast as hell and according to some of you can even be made better. I will take up some of the suggestions here. Thanks everybody.

Well I decided to get the new seagate hard drives and change my ram to a G.Skill 2GB PC4000 kit. What do ya'll think?
One note: I did some benchmarking with SLI on and off and got a very nice difference in performance. So, at least to me, the added expense of SLI is worth it. If anyone is interested I will post those benchmarking results tonight, just ask.

If I had a million dollars...I would buy you a G.Skill PC4000 2x1GB kit.
G.Skill 2GB PC4000 kit.

Well I just finished removing the G.Skill PC4000 2x1GB kit from my MB. Their was no performance increase at all. In fact It was a little slower than my original one gig of OCZ. This, in fact, proves Anand's latest article on the subject: http://www.anandtech.com/memory/showdoc.aspx?i=2560

I believe I will buy the 2 gig of RAM the article mentions.

If you just stole a kilo from a cop's trunk and sold it, buy this RAM.

OCZ DDR500 2 x 1GB kit if you are overclocking.
OCZ DDR400 2 x 1GB (2-3-2-5) Platinum kit if you are not overclocking.
