Tom's hardware keeps their cpu and vid card benchmark charts more up to date so for benchmarking info I go there. Plus they put all the benchmarks for every cpu video card they do in two charts with all the other benchmarks so it's easy to compare your current cpu or card with the one you're looking to upgrade to. Anadtech only does roundups every couple of months and they only compare against all the recent hardware, so there's no way to see what performance gain you can get over your current hardware.
Now on the other hand, when it comes to knowledgeable in depth reviews about new hardware, AT definitely owns Tom's Hardware. When it comes to reading about new stuff, I prefer to read the AT articles over the Tom's articles. So I guess they each have their good points and bad points.

Guru3d is nice, but it is not really in depth. Hilbert is a nice enough guy in his forums and what not, but I don't feel he knows NEAR the amount that Anand and the others do.

As for Tom's Hardware, Tom himself was very very intelligent. However, he hired a staff full of morons and didn't bother to manage them properly. Not only that, the Editor's over there were equally horrible as they could never seem to find a consistent way to bench objectively. I believe they got in trouble at one point for accepting money from Intel. Everything seems quiet over there now...as was said earlier, I believe Tom himself quietly slipped away.

Add ArsTechnica to the "in depth micro architecture analysis".

I like Xbitlabs also but sometimes there reviews are too damn long. I think I seen a few that were above 25 pages that had very litte pics.

I would agree with that... I haven't read a review from them in a while. I should get on that lol.

IIRC it started with the Pentium III 1.13GHz fiasco. Then Tom was quite critical of RDRAM and the P4 since they basically ramped up clock speeds at the cost of performance... most enthusiasts would agree with these points, but Tom managed to piss off Intel PR people. Good luck running a hardware review site when the manufacturers won't send you samples...

wow i remember that fiasco. That was quite some time ago now LOL!
