What is the best Media player

winamp for music, WMP for video.

if you're compotent at organizing, itunes is not all that great for library management.

I switched to WMP 9 after that travesty of a program that was Winamp 3, but ever since the release of 5, I've been back and faithful. WMP is just too slow for my liking. Plus its randomizer sucks.

Winamp seems to struggle with my +10,000 collection...as does WMP10, but iTunes does not. I hate to switch to iTunes because Winamp has served me well since the 0.xx days.

Just dunno what to do!

Oh, and I use WMP10 to view video files.

In Windows I like media player classic for video. For mp3 I switch between winamp and wmp10. I really like akuron or whatever it is called in linux for mp3, it is very nice if you have a net connection it will try to display the lyrics. The latest beta version also searches wikipedia for info on the artist. Something like that in Windows would be cool.

What do you mean?

Like WMP10's built in music library system. Where you have a list of artists>albums>songs.

Media Player Classic is mostly for vids, but it can play mp3s and it does have a playlist. For music, I use Winamp. I don't use the library feature since my playlist has all the songs I want to listen to at that moment.

foobar for music, VLC for DVD's, BSPlayer for other vids. I use bsplayer instead of vlc because it lets me zoom in a bit, so widescreen movies use up a bit more of my screeen.
