What is the best way to apply Copper Ice thermal paste to a CPU??

I have a p3 850 flip chip, and I was wondering how much, and how to apply some copper ice thermal paste to my CPU before I mount the heatsink to it. How much is too much, how little is too little....i've heard you can overdo it and actually decrease thermal conductivity, is this true?? Any tips are appreciated! Thanks in advance.

spread with a business card till surface is covered, slightly scrape off, also with the business card. the amount remaining will be 'just about right'. now didn't that sound like i knew what i was talking about? actually did see the business card process on a website with before and after pictures but don't remember where. do a google search.

its not critical.
The idea is to have an even media between the two pieces conducting heat, to facilitate the transfer better than air. Like water would be real good for heat transfer, but not so good with electical stuff.
When you press the two together, you will see that you can't have too much. Just clean up the sides.

umm, i'm supposed to cover the WHOLE chip?? or just the core???

Apply just enough to cover up the core.
