What is the big draw to The Cheesecake Factory?

Ill come straight out and say it, I love the Cheesecake Factory. It has the best cheesecake I've had, the best strawberry lemonade ever and I've never ordered something I didn't like- not to mention I don't think I've eaten the same thing twice because their menu is so stupid big. The only thing I don't like is the wait to get a table- if that happens, I'll go elsewhere.

The closest one is 10 hours away so needless to say it's a vacation thing for us, but no chains around here in Canada even comes close in terms of variety. I'm not one to go to a Michelin rated, or whatever other awards they give out, restaurant to get a plate of food the size of my hand for 50$ and then have to act all pretentious and describe how phenomenal it was just because it's expected of people who eat at those places.

Give me some CF any day and I'll be happy (and also dead considering how unhealthy it is).

I don't think most of the people who are shitting on cheesecake factory do so because they love $50 pretentious tapas...

It's because most 'pub food' is just as good with even more bigger portions for half the price...
They do have a large menu, and I agree the food is not "bad", but really, the only thing that stands out is the Cheesecake .. which is expensive, but good enough to be worth it

A current coworker was telling me about her time at OG and how terrible it was. Apparently a ton of people come in and just eat salad and breadsticks for hours

We don't have Olive Garden any more but we have a large chain called Boston Pizza and the last 2 time i went there and ordered Lasagna it was still cold/frozen in the middle, i hate chain restaurants and try to avoid them ...

There's no possible way for a restaurant with the huge menu & volume of CF to not use frozen food.

I like Cheescake factory cheesecake...when bought at BJ's for fraction of the price.
Went to one of their restaurants years ago. Don't remember much about it other than the food and ambiance wasn't worth the wait or the price.

We usually stick to mom and pop restaurants when we go out. Fortunately we have tons of options and the last place we would consider is one of the chains (or any place that won't accept reservations for peak times).

GF, many years ago, went to an Olive Garden and asked for olive oil with the bread (there was none on the table). The waitress didn't know what that was. Olive oil. She explained it to the waitress, but it apparently sounded like describing a unicorn to this person.

Waitress went back to the kitchen to ask about this olive oil thing, then returned saying that they ain't got none of that.
