How much less? Depends on geographic location and how may people earn and depend on that salary.
One person, in Texas, is median. In HI you would be homeless.

im trying to write a paper on people who work minimum wage, and their abilities to afford insurance.
by minimum wage, im referring to a Server at a restraunt, or a unskilled laborer, so im figuring a wage of <30k.

Look down to line 51. If you make $29k/yr you're in the top 50% of wage earners in the US.
