Hmm I used to put soft packs into boxes all the time. Same length as far as I know.

I had the same problem trying to put cigs from a soft pack into a box. I think the filter is about 1/8 shorter in the hardpack because the lid is hinged.

Back in the dark ages when I smoked there was a slight difference. The soft pack cigs were slightly longer than the hard pack ones, at least Marlboro reds were.

I was a heavy smoker from 1993-2004. I used to smoke Camel Lights and Marlboro Lights. I preferred hard packs, so if I had to get soft, I'd transfer them all the time. Maybe there was a fraction of a difference, but I never noticed...

Hard pack is slightly shorter than soft pack. The cost of the packaging is made up for in slightly less tobacco.

Probation office doesn't let you?

More to do with the fact that I'm not 18, but sure the probation thing sounds more hard-ass.

Last soft pack was Lucky Strikes. If I have a choice I go with the hard pack. The soft pack would be crushed in my pocket.

Your cigarettes break in half if you put a soft pack in your pant pocket.

Nor any other US non-filter cigarette.

English Ovals (a domestic Philip Morris product) come in a hard clamshell box (or at least they did when I smoked them many years ago).

Soft pack cigs are slightly longer, by a couple of mm's. They don't sell soft packs anymore?

i don't think they sell soft packs here, but something about having a soft pack of Marlie lights when partying in the US just feels right.

maybe the smell of those US smokes reminds me of home :Q

Hard pack cigs a a bit shorter than soft packs. ote the packages are the same height, so to fit inside the thicker hard pack cases, the cigarettes are a bit shorter.

not a smoker, but hard packs are preferred b/c they make it easier to pack the cigs before you smoke them.

I hear that Camel is coming out with new "lubed packs" to appeal to this demographic.

You came out of hibernation to post about cigs?

The only time I ever bought a soft pack was when I got some camels. Holy balls they were unfiltered and awful.

That's dedication to the addiction.

I lied. Looks like Seneca makes a non-filter box.

More learn'n. Glad it's not the same day or my head would explode!

Another difference which looks like it wasn't noted yet is that soft pack cigs are longer than hard pack (Nasty Marlboro's and Camels). Not sure how in the hell that happened..

I don't think they are. You can get 100's, which are longer, but the cigs in soft and hard packs are the exact same.
