It's about the clearest sign available that person using it is a moron and has nothing of value to offer to a conversation. It's not that it's offensive, it's just so stupid.

Everyone should be a "feminist" by definition to be a decent person. I don't think anyone of sound mind would advocate for inequality between the sexes. The term is often twisted though.
