Star Wars Galaxies has been my hook and line sinker even beat out BF1942 w/ DC mod. Yeah, you have to shell out the $15 month or so, but if you really like Star Wars like I do, then you might find it worth it.
Another good game is Hearts or Iron, World War II game, you can be 6 or 7 countries (USA, UK, France, Germany, Russia, South Africa, Japan, and Netherlands), ok it's 8... it's a turn based strategy game. You can start off in 3 different years, all ending in same year, 1948 or 1947. If you start the earliest, 1936 you pretty much have to R&D a lot of things. From planes, tanks, ships, infantry, War Doctrines, parachutes, submachine gun, mines, flame throwers, etc. The later 2 will help in defense or offensive abilities.
You also have to balance funds too, keep the civilians happy, fund R&D, fund war causes (tanks, infantry, planes, ships), food for infantry, tanks, and I think... resources.
You also get political points too, instead of attacking a country you can convience them to be more like you, Democracy, Communist or Facist. Take over land using political points or for example, if you were USA and not ready to enter the war, you can lend men to France for a better defense.
I'm sure there is more I can't remember but check out the reviews, graphics aren't the greatest, but it's a good game if you like WWII stuff and turn based games.
