@Torn Mind - Thank you, excellent presentation. I didn't know that the body would still use something, which from its perspective, is an unnatural as well as a deformed lipid. My information is probably dated though. I'm reasonably sure what I said about macrophages is correct ( or at least was at the time).

Something occurred to me though. Defects in a the walls of even a fraction of your cells should have some other pretty dire consequences besides heart disease - at least, I would think so. But I can't say I've ever heard of any other health issues associated with trans fat. I'm going to have to do some cursory research on that at some point, just not now. For the past year i've had so much trouble focusing that my attention span probably barely rivals that of a fruit fly,.

one tier up in not-as-junk would be Taralli

which is basically bread crust.
Pairs easily with any kind of ham.

I dunno, grapes or potato chips for me?
Or if it didn't cause me diarrhea when too much is eaten, watermelon...

Try washing the watermelon (and your hands) before cutting it? Water, fiber and sugar doesn't cause diarrhea.

Except cashews. That shit is for communists and considered "health food" for people that regularly eat hot pockets.
That's funny. Cashews do kinda suck. They were always the huge disappointment when I was a kid, thinking I got a peanut, but it turned out to be a cashew. I like pretty much all nuts, and cashews are fine in a blend of mix nuts as long as the percentage isn't too high, but I could live without them.

My current vice. Each bag is 260g and I go through it in one sitting. They claim more than 10B bag sold per year

I suffer the same from too much watermelon. Cant have most soda and juice, any amount of cider, or too much of some fruits. For years I never knew why, but turns out I have fructose malabsorption.

in shell, seasoned peanuts..whatever always good. ballpark in shell nuts, properly salted. Very very hard to beat.

All nuts work.

Except cashews. That shit is for communists and considered "health food" for people that regularly eat hot pockets.
I love cashew. Might be my favorite nut. Definitely in my top 2 along with pistachio. But I like it all. So I do find it little strange how someone could dislike something tasty as cashew.

Dried Herring Roe on Kelp. Pull it out of the ocean, gently wash with fresh water and dry it in the sun. Potato chips are a pale imitation. Moderation is needed as the Herring also feed everything else in the ocean, so don't get greedy.

The body can be selective but given it can metabolize poisons, it's not as selective as a conscious mind. It'll use what is in the "soup". Calcium and lead behave similarly, for example, as ions in the bloodstream. Lead substitutes where the calcium ion would have been, and then causes harm. .

The introduction of this study summarizes the knowledge so far regarding eladic acid, and it mentios that it is readily integrated into cell plasma membranes.

It could be that trans fats packed are together in the membrane similar to a saturated fat, thus having an effect on permeability.

The implication with benefits of stearic acid would be that dark chocolate with very little sugar might very well be a true superfood. It's has a lot of micronutrients and a high, and thus favorable, proportion of stearic and oleic acids in relation to palmitic acid(I think might 60+% stearic and oleic acid). It's also an acquired taste at best, repulsive or nasty at worst, so it is hard to overeat.

Fructose can cause discomfort in high levels, but it's probably not the main cause. It's probably the reason I feel a little discomfort after eating 25 or so grapes.

I think the sugar alcohols do it in watermelon. I don't have problems with smaller amounts of watermelon at all. When I let myself eat all the way to satiety...that's when the laxative effects take hold. It's a one time thing: after letting out the bowels once, there is no future reoccurrence, so it is not a infection.

Cleaning knives before eating fruit is routine for me.

I love watermelon. We have great and cheap watermelon in the US, and I'm thankful for that. Watermelon 🍉 = summer.

sucks to be you
I really only miss nanners, and these kickass almond-stuffed honeyed dates my in-laws used to make. Thankfully I still have access to lemons and limes.

The rest of the fruit world can easily be replaced with basically anything as far as I'm concerned.

I think it's kinda funny for a different reason, I don't really care much for nuts, but in the cans of mixed nuts my parents bought when I was a kid, the cashew was alright.
