Northern, MI to Geneva, CH(layovers in Detroit and Amsterdam) was my longest.

Add in zero sleep on the flight, driving straight to the Chamonix slopes for a half day of skiing, then dinner with friends = one hell of a long day.

I've done Toronto (YYZ) to Los Angeles (LAX) and then back on another plane an hour later to fly to Auckland, NZ (AKL). About a 20 hour trip in total.

For those of you who have done flights to APAC, how do you deal with being on a plane for 16 hours straight?

Riding in the front- 6 hour search and rescue mission, but no distance.
or Tacoma WA to Rapid City SD, 830 NM in 4.5 hours.

LAX -> MEL (Melbourne, AUS) 18 hours

Ditto for me if you're talking about a commercial flight.

From Kuwait to Fort Campbell, KY. About 18 hours flight time + a one hour layover. I slept the entire way.

Been there, done that. Fort Campbell, Kentucky to Kuwait City in the belly of a C-17 cargo plane sucks ass. Needless to say the in-flight entertainment left a lot to be desired, and those "economy class" seats are even more uncomfortable when you're wearing a MC1-1C parachute rig and have a 100+ pound rucksack between your knees. Was your layover in Gander, NF?

We seem to have quite a lot of travelers, whats the most beautiful place you have been to?

Probably Candian Rockies National Park/Banff. This is the screensaver on my laptop at work, and almost every day I have someone stop and ask me if it's a real photo and if so where it is.

Bishkek/Manas Kyrgyzstan- Anchorage Alaska - Riverside California. Took forever, coupled with the fact that someone needed to get off in Anchorage, their bags were buried under ALL the other bags, and it was snowing. Still a great trip home!

Chicago Midway to Chicago Midway - 4 hours (snow storm closed LGA, so we were diverted back to Midway)

1. LAX to Thailand plus 2 more trips
2. Minn to Japan plus 1 more trip
3. SF to HK plus 1 more trip
4. LAX to Korea plus 2 more trips

and of course, the trips back to US from those destination.

DO NOT fly US airlines for oversea trips. They sucked compare with ANA, JAL, Thai Air.

That's Lake Louise right? Stayed at the Fairmont there for two nights, was awesome.

Its between LAX to Sweden or LAX to Tokyo. I forgot but it was 16+ hours for both.

By the way, Swiss Airlines is hands down the best airline Ive ever been on. They treated me like a king.

Longest plane ride: San Francisco>Washington, D.C., with a short stopover in Kansas City, MO.
Longest train ride: Amtrak (before Hurricane Katrina disrupted service) Orlando, FL>Maricopa, AZ, about 61 hours, including a 4 hour stopover in New Orleans.

21,000 Km @ 22 hours airtime. Include 3 stops layover is well over 29 1/2 hours.

3 1/2 days for Amtrak from Vancouver BC. to El Paso TX.

My longest flight is probably around 10 hours.

I've had some pretty shitty trips if you count driving across europe to get to the airport and such. Probably 40 hours, the one time. ughh. I'm getting nauseous thinking about it.
