I've seen just about every video that the internet has to offer, and that was one of the few I couldn't stomach.

the bad thing is that when people see really screwed up stuff like this from a young age they get desensitized to it. and with some people it makes it easier for them to do what previously may have been unthinkable


take porn for example, porn is so popular now days that it practically mainstream. as a result with the influx of new technology pre-teen kids are filming themselves having sex. our society (world wide) is really in a very bad state

Although I would argue that your statistics prove nothing, it's really not the point. You are thinking way too recently and narrowly.

There are no FBI crime statistics from the 15th century, and I can almost guarantee that people were just as brutal then, if not more so.

our country is currently in dire economic straits with foreclosures at an all time high, unemployment rates are rising while at the same time basic commodities have gone up in price. how is that not a divide?

it's just basic math, with more people in the world there is going to be more crime and violent incidents and like I mentioned before most of the issues that were present in the 15th century and before are still presently with us. racism, religious intolerance, crime, political corruption, etc.. The only difference with a larger population there are going to be naturally more incidents of the above, think about all the reports of attempted genocides in the past half a century and compare that to reports of the same in centuires past. Read up on the body count of the first world war and compare that with every war before 1900.
