What is the most you spent on sunglasses?

I've been wearing shades for a few months now because of my eyes. I'm now on my 5th pair...favourite ones broke last night. $10 dollar shades from the gas station is all I will pay for sunglasses.

$350... and I ended up hating that pair because the gap between the lenses at the nose bridge was too wide.

So I just wear my $330 pair now. Have been for 5 years straight.

$100 two different times. Both were Maui Jims. First ones were stolen after 6 years, 2nd pair now rest at the bottom of the river in Mossman Gorge Australia after 6 years of solid service.

Actually both of these shades are now $100 on Amazon. I have the Ray-Bans with a brown tint as well as with a blue-gray tint.

Nothing beats the serengeti's for tint - everything just pops and contrast is amazing. The Ray-Ban brown tints don't hold a candle to the Serengeti's, which are known for their driver's gradient. The Ray-Bans just look sexier.

On a related note, I wonder how much UV protection quality sunglasses actually lose. Heard about how old sunglasses lose it over time, but I assumed they were talking about $10 gas station pairs. My Maui Jims are pushing 6 years old now. Lenses are plastic. I wear contacts with UV protection and don't go out much so...

Polycarbonate inherently blocks most UV-A and UV-B light so age shouldn't matter.

During the year I was out collecting sunglasses, I got a pair of Oakleys... didn't like the fit or the lens. Really wanted those $300 Oakleys for a while but was really concerned about fit.

I have prescription Maui Jims. so I didn't pay for them but they cost in the neighborhood of $500.

I'm rocking Prada sunglasses in the car. I paid over $400 for them (which was probably a complete rip off). Maui Jims for the outdoor activities. I like the Maui Jims and have owned a couple pair now. I'd buy them again. I think the most I spent on them was $250-280 each.

I bought my wife Cartier sunglasses about a year ago. I paid over $900 for them. She loves them. They look like this.

They're expensive and James Bond wore them. Other than that, I have no clue.

My wife has two pairs of Chrome Hearts (but just normal glasses). Much pricier than Oliver Peoples

Bought a pair Persol sun glasses with glass lenses. Though they were great at first. After awhile I realized how heavy they were. Then went out and bought a cheep pair of plastic sun glasses. Guess which ones I wear. I also have a pair of Oakley's which I use for cycling.

$800 or so. Oakley x-metal juliets with prescription lenses. Insurance paid all of it, I have several pairs now that I get new lenses in from time to time. I was getting one pair a year under my former employers vision coverage until Oakley stopped making those frames.

$50 is the most I ever paid. Not if, but when I will break/lose them sunglasses. I lose one when I was in Australia (washed my face and left it in the bathroom, went back and it was gone) and step on one while I got out of the taxi when I was in Asia. My two favorite pairs.

I have a big head and odd shape face so I usually have to try on sunglasses in person so I usually do not order them online.

I do like the dark oil can from Oakley for about $100 from Amazon.
