I had a fully functional C64 up until two years ago. Now I don't have anything older than a Pentium III (which isn't old at all).

one of my first systems was a 386 SX 25MHz with an 80MB hard drive, 4 MB of ram (used 4, 1MB 30-pin SIMM's). Man I couldn't play CRAP on that thing.

My first Windows computer, put together Nov 5, 1995 is still workable.

Now it is 233MMX with 64 Megs of memory, 6.4 Gig HDD.

Really, the only original parts are the case and the power supply.

mine can run Doom, Doom2 and Dark forces without any problems....it can even handle the orignal Descent at lower graphic settings.

SX, DX, or DX2? I had a SX/25.

Honestly, I have no idea what that means.

I think the DX had the math co-processor and the SX didn't. But honestly I don't remember. I know that the DX2 had a 2x multiplier though. So the processor would run at 50MHz with a 25MHz bus.

My PCjr is older than that. It doesn't even support a hard drive.

* CPU: Intel 8088, 4.77 MHz
* Memory: 64K on the motherboard expandable to 128K via a card in a dedicated slot. Later third-party add-ons and modifications raised the limit to 736K.
* Operating system: IBM PC-DOS 2.10, (Boots to Cassette BASIC without cartridge or DOS)
* Input/Output: cassette port, lightpen port, two joystick ports, RGB monitor port, composite video port, television adapter output port, audio port, wired keyboard port, infrared keyboard sensor, serial port, two cartridge slots
* Expandability: 3 internal slots, dedicated to PCjr specific memory, modem (300 bits per second version available from IBM, 2400 bit/s version available elsewhere), and floppy controller cards. External sidecar connector capable of daisy-chaining multiple sidecars.
* Video: Motorola 6845, "CGA Plus"
o Text modes: 40x25, 80x25, 16 colors
o Graphics modes: 320x200x4, 640x200x2, 160x100x16, 160x200x16, 320x200x16, 640x200x4
o Video memory is shared with the first 128K of system memory, and can be as small as 2K and as large as 96K.
* Sound: Texas Instruments SN76496; three voices, 16 independent volume levels per channel, white noise
* Storage: Optional 5.25 inch diskette drive or cassette. Other storage options were provided by third parties.
* Keyboard: 62 key detached. Corded or infra-red operation. IBM supplied two different keyboards, the first being the maligned 'Chiclet' keyboard, so named for its square rubber keys that resembled Chiclets. Many third-party keyboards were also available.
