I got my piercings not because it was the cool thing to do, not because I like the pain, not because I want to stand out, and not to keep certain people from talking to me. I got my piercings because I like them and because Napalm likes them.
I got my ears pierced when I was really litte, so I've always liked my ears pierced.
I pierced my belly button because my friend had it and I thought it was neat. That's the piercing that really started the piercing craze
Next I did my hood. Reason: It's a fun piercing, and a lot less risky and actually piercing the clitoris itself. And I love the piercing. It makes sex and other stuff so much more fun. And before poeple start bitching "well, if it would've been good before you wouldn't need to do that" - it makes a great thing even better. Besides, it's a more unique piercing.
Next - tongue. I find most facial piercings tacky (at least on me), so I got my tongue pierced. It's easy to hide and it's fun. Napalm really likes it
Last piercings: Nipples. Most painful yet I regretted them for a while. In the beginning I mostly just got them done for Napalm. But as they healed my nipples became so much more sensitive. Now I love those piercings.
Overall, my reasons for piercings would be personal pleasure I get from them. Both physical and simply knowing that I have them and that I'm different from other people.
