What is the worst date/relationship you've ever had?

I'll start. This woman at work recommended this Russian girl for me to date. She was pretty nice, but there were a few warning flags I didn't catch. First, there was a pretty big language barrier. Second, she NEVER offered to pay or pitch in for anything...princess syndrome. Third, she was very cold and didn't put out. Fourth, she was VERY skinny and I think she was anorexic. It was like hugging a leather gold bag.

This is the clincher: One night after going out, I drove her back to her apt. She lived with her parents whom I've never met. As I pulled in a space in front of her unit, I see 2 guys hanging out on the sidewalk smoking. I said, "Is one of these your father?" She said yes, but no more. So I got out, went to one of the guys, held my hand out to introduce myself....

He held out a stump.

The relationship was over at that point.

I must be old fashioned....I never expect a woman to "pitch in or pay" for anything. Sounds like you have issues as well. She is a cold person because she wouldnt put out? Perhaps she is religious, as many russians are. To me it sounds like you are looking for a shallow meaningless relationship, so why did the language barrier bother you?

It would have been nice if she had told me something like, "My father lost his right hand in an accident." It is customary to warn people of potential embarassing/awkward situations so they can adapt and avoid embarassment. It also would have been nice had she indicated which man was her father.

Although the language barrier was a factor, putting me in an avoidable embarassing situation was unnecessary.

An offer is a nice gesture because it indicates a desire to help, even if for the tip. I always turn it down and pay.

I agree that it would have been nice to introduce you, but the stump thing is still dumb. Most people, I agree, might think to warn you. She might not have remembered. Remember, she is used to the stump. She might not think to bring it up. But....from the rest of what you said, you still sound pretty shallow. If you're looking for a girl to just put out, I'm sure there are plenty of ho's out there for ya.

well i'm for you teddymines ... not offering to pay .... i think men need to get their a$$es out of their head about insisting on paying for everything .. women's lib fought for the right of equal pay .. now while paychecks might not be equal yet, they certainly are balanced enough to throw away this antiquated notion of men should pay for everything. That act was a chivalrous thing to do when women MADE NO MONEY or, at best, a good deal less than your avg man did. As for the rest ... since i'm not privy to the dialogs of the actual dates, i'd have to say, chances are somewhere you blew it. Just remember the magic word when it comes to dating ... "NEXT" .. there are TONS of women out there, never get hung up on one that isn't working out, but rather, look forward to meeting the one that will work out!
