Right knee bent the wrong way = the most intense sickening pain I have ever had in my life.

Got kneed in the balls during a "friendly" game of pickup basketball. Most of my friends thought I was faking it but it hurt BADLY. I was probably on the floor for a good 30-40 minutes before I was able to get up and start walking again. A day later my left nut swelled up to the size of an orange, no joke, and it would hurt everytime I had to go pee for about a month. I probably should've gotten it checked out =X

I swear...if I find out I'm shooting blanks 10 years down the road, that guy will be in a world of trouble.

I can't remember which was worse, so:
1. I had constant, severe ear infections between 15 and 22. One was so bad that in the middle of the night my ear swelled completely shut, and I was barely able to hear anything. There was some type of fluid (or sweat) leaking out, and I was crying in pain. I refused to got to the OR when my parents wanted to do (this was like 12:00 at night). I managed to fall asleep after taking a lot of tylonel. The next day I went to the doctor and got put on some type of super-inflammatory. That felt sooooooooo much better after it kicked in. I believe that that was the start of many different visits to a EN&T doctor to have fungus scraped out of my ear and getting ear drops specially mixed to fight it.
2. Pushing weight on machines, and ignoring a pain in my back that kept getting worse. While getting into my car, that was a sudden flash of pain. There didn't appear to be any hernia (or whatever) but I had to hunch over to walk around the apt., and could barely get in and out of bed. Last year, without pushing weights, I had a sudden reoccurance for no reason when getting OUT of the car. Again, days of pain, etc. I was still going to grad school and had to miss a few classes. Even when I was better, but not healed, I had to get a new backpack with wheels on it to take my books around. Professors liked having us bring lots of heavy books that we only looked at 10% of the time :|

Both cases were still less painful than the time I broke my elbow off. I had to have two different operations, because putting in a single screw wasn't enough to stop the pieces of bone from driftin apart, so they had to do another operation to set in another screw and cabling system. The first time it was a constant pain, though still better than either. They gave me morphine... which wasn't working. They kept asking if I was in pain, and they kept giving me morphine till they hit the max they were allowed to. For some reason, I had a natural immunity to morphine. I had to wait 4 hours for the stuff to wear off before I could get something else. I had used Tylonel-3 in a previous hospital visit and I knew that stuff worked well on me. Feh. For some reason, the second one had me go home immediately after the operation (and I mean IMMEDIATELY.). The first time, they kept me overnight for observation.

Oh, and FTR, when I broke the arm if didn't hert that badly, it was practically black, but it felt like the pain was just from severe brusing, though I could barely move my arm... I went to class anyway, but got permission to skip to go to the doctor (this was an 8:00 class, and I had slipped on a piece of ice while checking my mail. Jackass with the salt came by 30 SECONDS later and said "Did you fall?", when I couldn't even get up on my own. Ass.). The on-campus clinic was having a morning meeting, so they wouldn't let anyone in for 30 minutes. I was asked if it was an emergency. Not being psychic, I didn't know and had to wait :|

Seriously, though...drive-by? Gang-related? No jokes--seriously curious.

I'd have to say I have a toss-up. After my wife and I decided 5 kids was plenty, I went and had my boys snipped. The pain afterwards was awful. Not a searing pain, really...but the dull ache that went into the pit of my stomach was horrible and seemed like it lasted forever. On the other hand, I chippd my 2 front teeth in 4th grade and the nerve was completely exposed. The slightest bit of breath, air, cold, hot, anything was excruciating.

Trip to Cancun and Guatamala.

Got the shits after our trip to Guatamala. The worst stomach pain (or any pain) of my life.

I would still do it all over again. The Mayan ruins and rain forest was amazing.

I had that happen once. Pain so immense that you start sweating profusely.

Yup. I start sweating real bad too.

Problem with me is, it happens 90% of the time.

3 Times:

When I got my eyes cut open playing basketball, went up for a rebound, came down into a persons hand, sliced both my eyes open.

2nd: When I get this pain in my lower back, I swear to god it's the worst pain I've ever felt, I can't move, I can't lie down, I can't move period.. it's excruciating.

3rd: When I got a nail through my foot.

And when I got punched in the face.. that sucked too.

Broken Jaw, I was a child at the time but I can't remember anything that hurt more than when I broke it. I was racing another kid down a hill and there was a manhole that was sunken into the ground. I hit the manhole at full speed and it upset my balance on the bike enough that I fell off and landed on my chin. The impact caused a fracture in my jaw and off to the hospital I went.

May 13, 2002 (my birthday) I had a total hip replacement.

They made a 13 inch incision in my hip, went right to the bone, did a lot of sawing and a lot of hammering.

I doubt that many here have experienced that much pain. For me, after the anesthesia wore off, it was terrible.

- Had severe gas but nothing would pass through, as if that "end" was sewn shut. Excruciating.
- Severe migraines.
- Three ruptured lower discs. Couldn't sit through high school graduation.
- Slammed front shin into exposed trailer tow, dented the bone.
- Tooth abscess, it's killing me right now. Worst pain ever!!!
I'm lucky, though. to have never broken a femur, experienced kidney stones, third-degree burns...those must be mind-boggling.

With that all said, the worst sensation of all time is dizziness or numbness, even worse than the worst pain I've ever felt. I can stand pain but severe nausea, dizziness, loss of sensation? Please shoot me then.

I broke my jaw and had it wired shut for two months. The break itself wasn't really that bad (it mostly hurt when I was shivering because it was -20 out). However, after I got it unwired, it was some of the most excruciating pain to get it to open back up. Your jaw doesn't open up, you have to force it open. Needless to say, it's not a good feeling.

Pancreatitis crisis => inhumane pain guys, definitely.
Average duration: 5 - 7 days (vomiting food first, unknown liquids then, nothing left but still vomiting because of the pain)
Pain level: 15 out of 10. Passed out a couple of times, not even conscious sometimes.
Cure: none
Pain reliever: Morphine only

I've had a couple 10 years ago... I'll never be ready to get one more.

Forgot to add my prolapse disc pressing on my nerve when I move my back in to certain positions. MOST PAINFUL THING EVER. The pain jolts through my back and down to my left leg. When I cough or sneeze it was very painful. The pain has dulled off now that I am the mend though

This is no joke. On occasion (usually after I have dairy), my anus will contract really really hard and it fvcking hurts like hell. Probably an onset of a prostate problem.

EDIT: The best way I can describe it is as if its a muscle cramp on the anal muscle group.

This is 100 times worse." I had to be rushed in for an emergency CAT scan. I barely remember being taken to the hospital.

Quite honestly, if I was given a choice: live with the headache the rest of my life, or cut off my own arm with a rusty dull hacksaw and no anesthetic, without hesitation I've have started cutting my arm off. I had a root canal where one of the roots wasn't numbed... that was incredibly painful. This headache was 1000 times worse than that.

I was in a bike accident where a particular part of my anatomy bent the bike seat. This was 1000 times worse.
I was in a bike accident where I went over a bridge (that wasn't there - construction), and my legs went through the re-bar. The tires were big enough that they didn't go through the rebar. I'm amazed I have children. I crawled to the side of the road and vomited. The headache was 1000 times worse.

besides the collapsed lung (6 times!)i actually forgot about when i had my appendix out. the pain from it rupturing was tolerable it was the recovery from surgery. usually the appendix is on the right side usually in the same area on everybody. not on me. nope it was nearly under my belly button(well about 3 inches below it). they had to search to find it.

doing so they cut stomach muscle etc to get to it. i have a 4-5 inch smile going across my stomach. After the surgery they asked me if i could get up. i was felling pretty good with little pain. So i went to get up. well when you get up normally you use stomach muscles to help. IT FVCKING HURT. i fell back and nearly passed out. 2 of the stitches popped (they didn't re-do those so i have a ugly fat scar) i was in pretty bad pain for about 2 weeks.

though that was still not as bad as having a collapsed lung and having them shove a tube through your chest..

fell down a flight of stairs in such a way that I landed on my wrist, split the bones right in half and pushed the bones in my arm ontop of the bones in my wrist. That was pretty damn painful but the worst part was when I was at the hostipal they took and xray and told me I had 2 choices 1: get freezing (about 7 needles) and then they were going to pump my bones back into place 2: do it without any freezing, while the doc was telling me this he was also holding onto my wrist. Well I hate needles so I said without the freezing and without missing a beat *SNAP* the doc pushed my bones back together and I came so close to passing out but I fell to the ground and I think everyone in the hostipal heard me scream. But that wasent the worse part yet, right after that the doc put a cast on my arm really tight so there was no way I could screw up the bone setting, well about 5mins after the cast was put on my arm started to swell and OMG the pain was so bad, I was on morphine and still screaming about the pain, they finally got me on some really strong anti-inflamatories but the worst pain ever!
