I really didnt think they would consider a bad sunburn an emergency. I look back now and realize I should have called.

This isn't really pain, just thought I'd relate my first HIIT experience, which happened a couple hours ago. So I go out, walk for 5 minutes, then sprint for 30 seconds, then slowed down to a jog for 30 seconds. I planned to do these cycles (sprint 30 sec, jog 30 sec) for at least 10 minutes. I didn't last 7. At the end of 7 minutes I was too tired to even throw up, and I had a splitting headache. There wasn't pain like a heart attack, but I did feel something more deep, like I was about to die. I wonder what's gonna happen on Wednesday.

Right after I graduated high school I was involved in a pretty bad mishap. My gf was babysitting, and invited me over. We started messing around. I ended up in a situation where my hearing was obstructed. My gf heard the garage door opening and told me to run out. She ran to the bathroom to get decent while I ran outside on the deck. Little did I realize that there were no stairs leading from the deck to the ground. Not thinking before I acted I threw my shoes over the deck, then I lept over. Time was of the essence, and I didn't want to be seen....

I knew I was in trouble when it took me a long time to hit the ground. I landed left foot first, then right foot, then on my butt. It was really hard to get up. I eventually stood up, hobbled to get my shoes, and walked over to my car (barely). From there I kept calling my gf, who refused to leave as she decided it would be a good idea to BS with the parents of the kids she was babysitting. When she got to my car I told her I think I broke my foot and back. Her response was "just put some icy-hot on it."

I made the ten minute drive home. While on my way, I called my mom to tell her I needed her to take me to the hospital. After the twenty minute drive to the hospital, the doctors didn't see me for at least two hours. Of course I had to be manipulated for x-rays before I was given any pain medicine. First I was given 10mg of percocet, which didn't even touch the pain. Then I was given a shot of demoral, which promptly made me throw up. The diagnosis was a fractured vertebrae and broken meta-tarsals 2,3, and 4.

Luckily I didn't need surgery, and I was able to teach myself how to walk again on my own. Picking myself up after the fall was probably the most difficult thing I've ever done in my life. But as far as the most painful thing, that was to come a couple months ago. (No offense to the OP) But when the aforementioned gf decided she didn't love me anymore and I had to moveout, that was certainly the most painful feeling of my life, and continues to torment me on a constant basis.

You had a stomach ulcer for a few minutes? I'm not sure thats possible.

Where did I say minutes? I said HOURS, yes HOURS, like 4 HOUR, F O U R H O U R S! Have you ever had a stomach ulcer? I would guess not because if you did, you'd know (at least in my experience) that the first time you get it is the most painful, so you take meds (I take them when the pain comes back) and hope for the best.

Funny that I posted in this thread because 'lo and behold I had another pain attack on my stomach today, lasted for about 2 hours and wouldn't go away until I ended up driving home and taking my medicine. Painful, but not the jaw and hand clenching, mouth foaming, 90* hunched over eventually fetal position on floor screaming/groaning type pain like when I first had it.

When I was 10 I was riding on the back of a motorcycle with my dad. He was headed into the carport in a space between the car and a pillar holding one edge of the carport up. I had a knee sticking out and it whacked the pillar while the bike was going about 15 mph.

Another time I had cankers in the back of my throat. I really didn't sleep for 3 days -- you'd doze off, they'd dry out, hurt even more, and wake you up. Then they'd hurt like hell as you tried to swollow -- nothing in my life beats that pain....

I guess I'll have to add mine.

I have hemophilia, fortunately, only moderate. When I was about 10 or so my mom and I were doing a paper route. While going up a hill in a car that has seen much better days, it dies. The car starts rolling and I attempt to stop it while holding onto the door. The door bends back, I slip and the door clips me on the back on the car goes over me. I immediately curl into a ball, and any movement caused the most excruciating pain. My mom carried me to the nearest house to call an ambulance. I had joint bleeding in both hips. I could not walk for two weeks. For the first week I had to be carried to the bathroom, towards the end of the 2nd week I could crawl.

When I was 12, my brothers and I were racing eachother home on bikes from a park at dusk. I was in the lead and was rounding a corner fairly quickly. I saw the steel bar too late. I flew about 15 feet or so and landed right on my right hip. I couldn't move my leg or put any weight on it for a week.

If you want more I have plenty

Indeed, I have had an ulcer, and yes I know they are painful. My point was that ulcers last a lot longer then minutes or hours, you just experience symptoms for minutes or hours. I was not suggesting that you did not or do not have one. And believe me, I sympathize with you. The one I had felt like someone was boring a hole in my stomach with a power drill.

Skin graft surgery after motorcyle accident, grafted 50 % of the skin on my left arm and 25% on my left leg, much worse than any of my burn injuries or severed fingers IMHO.

Ok, so when i was 11, I was riding my bike down a hill with some friends. It was around a 45 degree angle. This was a road, so it's paved. The guy in front of me slams on his breaks, luckily perfectly in front of me. My front tire hits his back tire, I fly over him, and slide shirtless down the road for about 10-20 feet. When I stop sliding, my bike (which managed to continue moving somehow) hits me in the nuts from behind, and lands on top of me. There wasn't much skin left on my chest, and what was still attached had rocks stuck under it. I walked back to my friend's house, and his mom (ex-nurse) just covers me with gauze and I passed out. It was some hardcore pain.

Next worse thing was a week and a half ago, I was cutting lemons at work and cut from the last joint on my left index finger down to nearly the tip of the finger. The flesh was completely unattached, so I had to keep it elevated and with pressure on it for 3 days before it stopped bleeding. Neosporin with pain releiver is my friend. Now the open wound is basically only about 3/4 of a centimeter long, and about 1/2 a centimeter tall. Oh yeah, and I got to sit in the doctor's office waiting for him to cauterize it for 2 hours. The cauterizing took 4 minutes. Nothing like having a wound thats gushing blood get burned for 4 minutes. Icing on the cake. Now I can actually type using the finger, as of today.

I normally take benefix. I guess it either wasn't out then or we didn't know about it because I received plasma from my dad on those occasions. Didn't really help much.

When I thought I was having a heart attack. I believe I posted about it back when. Turned out it was a deep muscle pull/strain/something. Doctors couldn't find anything, but it's as close as I could get to having a knife through my chest.

2 Pains, the first was the worst instantaneous pain while the second was the worst extended pain

While playing basketball I was driving to the hoop when I got knocked in the air, off-kilter I landed with the side of my ankle hitting the court while I was still upright. My ankle swelled up instantaneously to the point that if I hadnt thrown off my shoe in a fit of pain i would've had to cut myself out of them.

Second one was when the side of my throat got infected...it was so swollen you could see it from the outside. Swallowing the saliva created the most terrible long-lasting pain ever.

I'll get headaches that run from my back teeth to my eyes. Whole head feels like it'll explode, and the pain gets to the point where I'll feel dizzy and weak. Usually, I can control them with pain killers, but sometimes nothing helps.

Pretty high up there for me is when I dislocated my knee and popped it back in by myself.
