what is this and what does it mean?

1. When people ask you, what is your knowledge for "distributed software architecture"? What does that word "distributed" mean?

2. When they say, what is your experience in buliding "Advance Graphical User Interface"? What is consider as advance?

I cannot ask the person who asked me these questions, b/c he is just an HR, those are suppose to be a requirement for a job the HR called me to interview for.

He gave me a word document with some questions trying to measure how deep my programming knowledge is.... I know GUI, but are there a special category called, Advance GUI designing? If so, what are some examples for Advance GUI designing? Can you also give me some examples on what is a Distributed Software Architecture??

Distributed means multiple processors and/or machines.

Advance means more than just combo boxes, textboxes, buttons, etc.

no, i am trying to find out more information, so i can research it a little bit more for the interview. I tried googling it, but bunch of links that provide distributed software architecture comes up, they do not explain "what" exactly is distributed software architectures. can you help?

also, advanced probably includes transparency, multiple screens, multi-resolutions, multi-desktops, a pointer with configurable options... the like. Think about Windows and KDE or X. Those are advanced GUI's, as opposed to, oh... win3.1 or many machine specific GUIs.

i agree with her209 on the distro definition.

i dont know what it means now, but i can always start looking into it. So next time when i interview, when i come across, i know what I am talking about. Thats why I am asking for help getting started on this topic.
