That is a very normal raccoon. He has friends somewhere.Racoon, badger, wolverine or something else?
Seemed to have a striped tail.
Scared the hell outta me as I was going out to take the garbage bins out

I had a colony of those bastards living above my garage a few years ago before I evicted them.
Naw, racoons are easy, just remove access to their home (assuming there's no babies involved). In my case, they were shimmying up a wood pole to an unsecured rafter, i just waited for them to leave in the evening then stapled some chicken wire over the gap, they rehoused themselves after that.Did it require a gun?
Feeds raccoons for over 3 decades, wonders why raccoons turn up at her house! 🤦Fckn trash panda.

"Yeah that striped tail confused me initially but seems to be normal apparently."
The striped tail and the prominent black eye mask on the face are VERY distinctive colouring patterns for raccoons. I can't think of any other North American wild animal that looks like that.
I've never seen a raccoon in the US.. but I've only lived in NYC.
I have travelled overseas and seen raccoons in Costa Rica but they look different.. more brownish and no striped tail.
Which is why I didn't know what the hell that was but it was my first guess.
Anyways thanks, learn something new everyday.
I got racoons, hares, deers and the occasional cayote showing up on my driveway.
Bigger, they are about 18kg (40lbs). Single ones are not very aggressive but you gotta watch yourself if it is a pack. Are coyotes aggressive? And are they smaller or bigger than raccoons?

He...or she, picked up the ball from the graveled area, walked around for a few minutes...like he was looking for someone to play with...then dropped it and wandered off.
I'd guess maybe 40-45 lbs...smaller than a normal sized German shepherd.
Not really aggressive...but they will take small pets...cats, small dogs, even bigger dogs if they can trick them into chasing them into a pack of waiting coyotes. Happens pretty frequently.
Not nearly as big as a wolf. Coyotes tend to be solitary hunters, unlike wolves who are strictly pack animals, but they DO work together somewhat.Holy shit.. I would have confused that for a gray wolf!
Apparently they are closely related.Holy shit.. I would have confused that for a gray wolf!
I'll bet one of them is named Vito or Michael.Fckn trash panda.
