What is this hand tool? Antique.

I found this at a yard sale today.
What is it?
The text is "USNC" or "USMC".
I highly doubt it is military related... but USMC really messes up the google results.

I'll go with this. I'd have guessed rope knife, but a fish scaler makes sense, and does look similar to the Swiss Army version. It even has a hook disgorger on the end.

Definately a fish scaler. My grandfather had one similar to that, his was a bit different but the same basic thing.

EDIT: Similar to this, but with a wooden handle. I also don't know if his had a bottle opener.

More EDIT: After comparing the two actually, I'm not so sure. It seems like the teeth on the OP's tool are more pointy. Are they sharp OP?

I'm having trouble envisioning how that would be used, either by hand, or with a lathe. Is it sharp? Maybe a handsaw?

it would be a useful saw when you are in a tight space and have to saw something off, probably like in furniture making or something

I couldn't tell you what the two prongs on the tip are used for though...no clue how that would be useful...maybe for gouging, twisting holes?

They were found in a box marked woodworking tools but, we have no idea if the person labeling them knew what they were or not. The handle looks to be oak and is reminiscent of 1930's or 40's era knives I've seen. I wish I could find reference to "USNC." Perhaps it's a European company.

Maybe, but a woodworker would have a variety of chisels to better handle that task.

Although I can't tell by the image, the teeth, though serrated, aren't serrated in the same fashion as a typical saw.

It should look like that above, left to right alternating teeth so to easier cut in a straight manner. The teeth look to be facing in a single direction so I highly doubt it's a saw.
