If the warranty is like the warranties on projectors, then you would have to send it back to Japan for warranty repair.

Any kid demanding a $600 gift deserves coal. They obviously need to be taught that there's more important things than money and toys.

its called parenting/upbringing- whomever is responsible for raising that child apparently needs to learn how to say "NO" and might want to teach them a little about costs and sensibility (and whomever else thinks they need to continue to spoil the kid and make them think they can have whatever they want regardless of cost or consequesnce.... geez... )
So be a part of the solution, not the problem. A cousin that is "bratty", and apparently SPOILED, is a problem

not uptodate on this console stuff, but the same controller design? LOL

with a new twist to it. they had a new design at first but i dont think it got a nice reception. so they went back to what works. which isnt always bad.

Yeah the twist is that it doesn't rumble anymore and if the battery in the wireless controller dies you have to send it to sony to get the battery replaced.

There is an actual set of real twists is that it's motion sensitive (which most of us already know) and the L2 and R2 buttons are now triggers, similar to the Xbox controllers. Also, I guess having a "home" button is now standard for game systems, as they've added that to the center.

This is what I was told in an article.

Jap ver. PS3 will:

-Play US PS3 games
-US Blueray movies (Japan and US share same region now)

It will NOT:

-Play US dvds
-Play US PS1 and PS2 games (it still uses same PS2 chip).

yep, you are correct on blu-ray

The Blu-ray movie region codes are different from the DVD region codes. The following are the region codes for Blu-ray discs:

Region code Area
A/1 North America, Central America, South America, Korea, Japan and South East Asia.

B/2 Europe, Greenland, French territories, Middle East, Africa, Australia and New Zealand.

C/3 China, Russia, Central and South Asia.
