So I was booking a trip and I went to apply for the American Airlines card at checkout for the bonus. To my surprise I was declined for the card. I had checked my credit score a week earlier and it is 831. I got Citi's reason in the mail and it was basically for lack of credit history. This was weird because I have several lines of credit going. They ran it on Experian so I decided to pull my 3 reports. Equifax and Transunion correctly report all my credit cards, current loans, rent, and past loans perfectly.
My Experian report however has a single credit card on it that I closed 2 years ago. I called Experian and the basically said I need to ask my creditors to report to them. I've heard of discrepancies in what gets reported to the three agencies but this is ridiculous. How can literally nothing current be on this report? I'm basically f'ked if anything I apply to checks Experian right now.
Does anyone have any insight into why this would occur?
