CNN reported almost 300,000 manufacturing jobs lost in Ohio during Bush's term. They still go for Bush. Ridiculous.

What would you have Bush (or the Congress) do to stop the loss of manufacturing jobs?

Well, i have no idea, but if I lived there, I'll take the chance w/ Kerry. They already saw what Bush did, I guess they like sitting at home and collecting unemployment checks.

People don't want to learn and understand the forces of free marketplaces and the global economy let alone basic economic theory. It's easier to blame Bush.

I think what the left doesn't understand is that red staters don't vote solely on economic issues

A President can't stop the forces of economic. Even Kerry said that he can't stop the job losses.
Do the math, if you are a business owner and you have to pick and chose between paying $5.15/hr (lowest salary for a U.S. worker) versus around $1 or $2 PER DAY for a worker in a Third World country. No brainer there.
Like I always said, continue to update your skills and knowlege and be adapt to changes or your life will be touch in the GLOBAL economy.
9/11 didn't cause the economic downturn. That was already bad enough. 9/11 just made stock levels go to where they should be anyays much faster.
Bonehead! I'm from Ohio, and have ignorant coworkers spewing the same idiotic crap as you. Not only is Kerry for free trade, same as Bush, but so was Clinton, Dole, and Bush Sr. The ONLY candidate against free trade was Ross Perot, who was dead set against NAFTA. All others, including Kerry, agree with keeping NAFTA and belonging to the WTO. Any qualms with either of those entities is shared by both candidates.Originally posted by: IHateMyJob2004
1) FREE TRADE!
2) Bushes policy
3) is a factor
Why not tarriff imported steel? How hard would that be?
