What is wrong with LCD??? I'll give you a cookie if you figure it out

So I got this monitor from a friend. It's a MAG 19 inch, average quality BUT every time I turn it on, the graphic displays on the screen and turns off after 3 seconds.

Seeking advice as to what to do, is it worth it to repair this damn thing or just trash it?

Found your problem! I dunno... my brother has a MAG and its not very good.

yea tested on my thinkpad, nothing. Oh well, i guess i'll just give it up

Maybe something is wrong with the internal stuff in the monitor.
Bad Capacitor? (they even have capacitors in monitors?) I dunno.
