Probably going to be a Computer Science major since MIS/CIS/IT-Related majors are not offered at any of the schools I think I am going to.

Right now it's just like a stupid transfer associates of the arts degree. It's a pointless thing to do, but my college sucks and I really don't like the Comp sci teacher(s) we have here. So I am waiting until I get to a university to get better professors... :awe: Also, I need to get my math back in track before I start taking Comp Sci classes since I can't remember anything from math class. Major: English
Minor: Secondary Education

Being a teacher seemed like good idea, until I started getting into classrooms.

woot Non-Science!

BA
Major:
International Studies (focus: Security and Intelligence ... aka Homeland Security major)

Minor: Military Science

the minor is a gimme thanks to the school recognizing the ROTC credit hours as something other than throw away. Didn't have to do anything other than do what I'm already doing to get that major.

Should have taken two additional Russian lit courses to secure a Russian minor, but too late now, graduate next quarter and no way in hell I'm taking 27 credit hours next quarter! 19 will always be enough with 5 of those being Russian 402 (...if I pass 401 this quarter).

I realize now I, 1), should not have taken a major that requires 2 language courses above 104, and 2) should have worked toward a Computer Science related major, considering I am going into the Signal Corps (Communications) in the Army. However, that is hind sight and the first 3 years of school I refused the notion of going into computers as a career.
Army Communications is a damn good starting point for a career in communications and security, and with all this cyber-security bullshit from China recently (and previously Russia), that career field is just going to continue to expand.

The way I see it, if I can work for Google and Cisco when they make Skynet, then I'm on the right team.

non-science. story time.

my first year of U was in 1994 and I flunked out as an English major first time away from home, lived in a co-ed dorm with 500 other students, with a pub in the basement and 13 pubs on campus total... yeah. oh and I was from a small-town, and it was my first time living in a big city. Total writeoff of a year academically, but it was amazing to spend 8 months there... I'll never forget it York U, T-dot.

Went back to U after working a 16 months in a factory (mostly midnight shift). Buckled down for year one of my new 3-yr program and lived in a basement apartment with my brother quite a ways away from campus. That year, I might have went out five times. I owned my grades and absorbed everything they threw at me... Lots of As. I also became pretty good at Duke Nukem 3D during that buckle-down year... made it to #12 on Case's Ladder anyway.

Anyhoo to make a long story short I should have stayed for my honours... a couple of my profs wanted me to. i was whipping up the course websites for entry-level students in my program and if i would have stayed another year, i would probably had a completely different career path - likely something with computers / internet.

anyhoo... ended up in a good field and i love my job!!!!! i'll have 11 years in soon, started in 99 right after my grad.

good luck to all of those still studying

Communication Studies major.. my degree was comprised of a lot of social studies courses though... 2 Religion, 2 Astronomy, Photography, a couple random Mass Media related, a few bird computer courses... etc etc. U of Windsor.

Honours BA in history and political science. It was a specialist double major so I had no minor.

At the graduate level, I'm taking a certificate in New Media Journalism.
