AppleIIc (WDC65C02) -> 486SX-25 -> Pentium 200MMX -> P2 350@392 (first overclock!) -> Celeron 500 -> Celeron 800 -> P4 2Ghz -> AMD64 3500+ -> X2 3800+

Everything since the P2 has been overclocked, but I don't remember all the frequencies. Thank god we don't have to move jumpers around anymore.

Next upgrade will probably be a Quad-core once they get cheap and necessary.

386SX 33 (first ever PC, family PC) -> 486 66 (whole computer replaced under warranty) -> Pentium 100 (second replacement, still runs) -> Celeron 333 (first PC I bought for myself, prebuilt emachines) -> AMD Duron 600 (upgrade to the prev machine) -> Duron 800 -> Duron 1ghz -> AXP 1500+ -> AXP 1800+ TBred -> AXP 2500 Barton (333 FSB, in my HTPC currently) -> Sempron 2200 TBred (mobo died on the AXP 2500 and I just bought a combo for $50 with the sempron) -> AMD A64 3500+ (OEM gear from a compaq PC) -> Intel C2D e6300 @ 2.8ghz and this is where I stand for now.

I still have almost all of these CPUs. The D600 was sold long ago, I made it hit over 900mhz on air by killing the L2 cache. It did 800 on air easy. My AXP's were pretty good OCers too, I pulled 1.8ghz out of the 1800, and 2.2 out of the 2500+, but when that mobo set itself on fire (the PSU to mobo connector was on fire and the mosfets were melted) I stopped OCing till I got my c2d.

Damn straight they were I would like to have back all the money I spent on "treasure hunts" inspired by their post though.

I started with a IBM 8088 I think, switched to Amiga 500 w/ Motorola 68000, then Amiga 2000 up until about 6-9 months after the pentium appeared, and the Amiga software available locally really started to dry up. Since then who knows, too many to remember.
