I feel old(er). I Read many threads of THUGS, and believe it or not, DUVIE during my early start date. Noticed I said read.

I couldn't guess about the 1st one either but the 2nd one the E6600 would certainly be faster in games (expect maybe the very few that use quad cores).

Nice o/c you got out of that XPM ,I ran one upto 2.5GHz until ~1yr ago, I did test it for a few hours at 2.63GHz but it ran pretty damn hot!,so I didn't have the nerve to run it 24/7 like that .

486 DX4 @ 100 Mhz.

Then, it was almost 5 years for a Celeron 633. Those last years were painful, everyone was playing NFS 3 and I was stuck with Duke Nukem 3D. God I wanted a Pentium MMX so bad...

Crap, forgot part 2,5: By the last year or so (circa 2004) I upgraded the CPU to a... Pentium III 800 Mhz! WOOOOOOOOW! Ok, not really. It was almost the same thing... I could play UT2004 now! Well, sort of...

Then, it was a Athlon 64 3000. Damn fine chip back then.

And this year I got an X2 3800, OCed it to 2.4 Ghz and I'm a happy camper. Short and painful story! At least part I and II were awful at the last months.

P1 233 - local mom & pop
800Tbird-C - ^^ same local mom & pop
1600XP (Palomino) @ 12.5 X 110FSB (thanks shitty KT133)
- Painted bridges FTTW (for the temporary win); when it failed I was forced to build my first computer

2100+ TBred-B - good memories with this guy.
2500+ XP-M
Opteron 146 CAB2E
e8400

My regrets, both between the Barton to A64 transition and the Opteron to C2D (just 4 mo's ago) is that I waited way too long. At some point you want performance, and there's no reason to be sitting with crappy last-gen technology when the game you play (Source) is heavily CPU-limited.

Here's hoping I learned my lesson haha.

For my personal builds:
AMD Duron
Athlon T-bird 1.4
Barton 2500+ @ ~2.4
Athlon 64 3000+ Venice @ ~2.5, I think
Opteron 165 @ 2.7
C2D Q6600 @ 3.6

Yeah, I jumped ship, price-performance finally shifted to Intel... feel a little guilty.

The Barton 2500+ will always be a happy place for me, that chip was awesome for its time.

Its not necessarily how many CPUs you've had that counts, but how much work you put them through.

486DX4 100MHz
Cyrix P233
AMD Duron 900MHz
Intel Celeron 2.8GHz
AMD Athlon64 X2 4000+ 2.1GHz (current).

This was over a period of roughly 8 years. Oh and yes I started out with a 486 as my first PC in 1999-2000 lol before that I used other people's PCs. My mom (she's had three PCs of her own), my dad (he had a 286 back in the day when I was still a little kid) and those of a cousin or two.
