What is your favorite now dead TV show?

i'M 50/50 on that.

It was one of those tv shows if you never watched it would appear like a lame duck in the preview commercials but one night I forced myself to watch it and not too bad a tv show but later became a fan of it only because Brent Spiner appeared in an episode.

I remember people raving about how good Babylon 5 is. And me always confusing it with Farscape. Babylon 5 has nothing to do with Farscape. Babylon 5 is the best sci-fi ever made. Full stop. Who hasn't seen it yet, go watch it.

As much as I've enjoyed Firefly or Stargate series for the fun factor, I must say no other series has even come close in leaving a long-lasting impression to me as Babylon 5 has.

I think a few of those shows were canceled at just the right time or even too late.

Like Chuck, chuck should have been canceled right at the wedding...but no, the kept it on life support for another season.

This was the problem with Chuck. Pretty much every season after S1 had to be ended in such a way that it could have been the end of the series. I mean, really:

S3: Chuck finds out his dad was a spy. Buy More is exploded.
S4: Chuck and Sarah are married. They buy the rebuilt Buy More.
S5: Chuck gets Sarah back. They have their dream home. The end.

I totally agree that the last season wasn't the best. However, I do think it ended up that way because the writers never really had an idea if the show was going to get additional seasons. If you go into S4 thinking "this is it" and end it the way you do because you don't expect to be renewed -- then you're offered season 5 -- what are you supposed to do, say "No thank you!"? I can't fault them for that.

Probably only rating this my favorite because I just finished it: The Tomorrow People. On Netflix streaming. Excellent show, and it deserves a higher rating. If you liked Jumper (the book and not the movie, which was mediocre, if watchable) you'll like it, though teleportation isn't the only power used.

There are a few of other shows that I liked that got canceled. A good number of them are from around the TV writers strike:

Heroes (I don't care what everyone else says, even if the other seasons weren't as good as season one, it was still better than most other shows even after season one)

All of the shows were cancelled early. I don't mind as much if a show has time to wrap up, even if it's short lived, or if a longer-lived show ends with some finality. It's the shows that are killed off after mid-season cliffhangers or forced into shortened seasons early on that leave me wanting more.

If we're including shows that ended their run after a few seasons, it's a much longer list.

For me, the Unit is a good one. It's not highly recognized by most, but the people I've heard talk about it love it.

There's just something about a super secret group of army rangers that no one knows about that go in and do the impossible, and usually in a seemingly very realistic way.

The first episode called 'First Responders' more or less sets the idea for the series. A super secret group of army rangers whose commander takes orders directly from the president. I'd suggest giving a few episodes a watch.

That does sound pretty good. I actually caught a few minutes here and there of it, but never enough to get a feel for the show. I'll have to check it out sometime. Thanks!

Never saw Wonderfalls, Pushing Daisies didn't to it for me after the first few episodes, it was too wacky. Dead Like Me was the perfect balance of everything.

FireFly killed my Dark Angel. It did kind of jump the shark the 2nd and last season though.

Nikita was another good one I followed but I guess it was just time.
