For me my favorite ritual... oh boy...
I guess its the one where i find the snooze button on my alarm clock so i can get that 10 extra minutes, but i woke up 1 min too early to push it.. DOE!

My favorite ritual... Is having a daily ritual. I like order, and hate chaos. Which... With a wife and kids that concept is immediately gone all the time heh.

So I guess 2 other things:

1) I like waking up early, ideally by 6:00. Grab a cup of coffee, and relax on my computer in the morning. Everyone else is asleep. No noise other than my trusty dog that lays next to me. Peace. Quietness. Tranquility. It's pretty much the only time I get, which is a pain as an introvert. So that's why I cherish it.

2) Sitting and watching the rain. Just listening and watching it. Bonus points if it's during the time of day for #1.

I make a fairly basic hot cocoa every morning with a lashing of cream and milk. I don't drink it. I put it in the refrigerator and drink it at night with little sugar. It's like drinking an intense chocolate bar and I love it. I've been doing it for about 11 years now, even during the winter or when I've got a cold. I look forward to it every day after my evening shower.

Taking a cool shower after being outside in the hot sun, doing yard work or playing golf or whatever. Notice I said "cool", not "cold. The temp should be about the temp of water in a swimming pool.

If you've never tried it I would strongly suggest it. Its one of the most refreshing things a person can do to cool down.

Hm, probably the setup for a jam session. Getting the seating right, tuning up, sipping the beer, running down the playlist. It's a prelude to joy.

Making my coffee in the morning. That first sip of a freshly poured cup is always so bliss.

When I'm in bed having trouble coaxing myself to get out when I'm on a day off, I just need to think about the fact that I can make myself a coffee after my shower, and it gets me out of bed.

I'm trying to cut out any cafeinated or alcoholic beverages though so I limit myself to morning only. Trying to figure out how to make my night teeth clenching stop since it's completely destroying my jaw, and those types of drinks are known to aggravate it. I might need to actually stop coffee for a few weeks to try to "detox" from it to see if it helps. I'm down to only a few cups per day before noon though.

I'm not sure how much it will really help though. I more or less cut out alcohol completely, but the other day when I was at my parents after work my mom had a glass of wine already poured for me and I don't think the clenching was any worse that night... so I really don't know the cause of that and just grasping at straws by trying to cut down.
