Don eduardo.
Or any other agave tequilla. no anejo stuff here, just straight cactus juice thank you.
Price?
I don't think I've had that one. May give it a try. While I enjoy the finer tequilas I'm not goint to spend $120 for a bottle. Rather get that at a restaurant or something and just get a glass of it to enjoy w/ some company.
well given the current agave shortage the prices for good tequilla have skyrocketed.
I believe don eduardo was going for around 70 bucks.
don't believe in the price however to judge a good tequilla. A good tequilla should have a nice, clean, fruit flavor to it without burn.
All the distillers are screwed because the demand skyrocketed and it takes about 7 years for a plant to mature for distillation. Meaning demand is higher than supply and they can't magically make more 7 year old plants. -edit- what I mean is they can't keep supply up and of course prices go through the roof, look for it to level out within 4 years.
If you have to freeze it or take salt/lime just to make it taste good, then it is not a good tequilla. Do remember though that by mexican law if it doesn't say "100% agave" on the bottle you don't really know what is in it. Many "premium" tequillas are a small bit agave tequilla mixed with grain neutral spiritis, that's where the "burn" comes from.
